And the jokes just keep on coming...
Simply put, do you want Melo to replace Moute?

Id consider taking a chance. He can score and rebound. Plus is a tough guy. He will be motivated. If he sucks just waive him again.

I doubt the clippers will be playing Houston in the first round- more likely gsw. Probably get swept by either. Terrible match ups unfortunately. That laker game was a killer

What's the point?
Melo is a bad defensive matchup against any of the likely first round opponents the Clippers will face.
Melo is not good on offense. Why do people keep bringing him up in situations that don't make sense?
Feel bad for the guy, but this isn't a kids league, you have to be able to give teams the value they desire
How is This Even a Thing?

I don't understand why we're even discussing this. Only one credible journalist even mentioned Melo and it was likely done it jest. Melo brings nothing to this team. His inefficient volume ball-chucking is the antithesis of what this team is building.

As a fan I hope it's Anthony lol. If the Clippers were smart they'd sign Rodney McGruder.

If you sign Melo you are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. Will it work? Probably not but what is the downside? People are predicting the team goes out in the first round. Some say they will get swept. They are not a great defensive team anyway. They wont play the last 4-5 guys on the roster. I'd at least bring the guy in for a workout and see if he could help. It may not work but what is the downside to a workout?

if there was a time to sign Melo it was when you still had a chance of missing the playoffs and keeping your draft pick. Now he would just screw up what you guys have going which is developing your young guys for any free agents you add for next year. I really like SGA and Shamet for your team moving forward.

But don't the Clippers always screw up anyway? It's in their blood, like reverse psychology. You tell them not to do certain things, but they end up doing them anyway because they don't know better. Granted, that's under Sterling and the entirety of Doc Rivers The Cerberus. Would it fare any different under Jerry West?

You sign him for this season not next season. He isn't going to stop any young guys from developing in what is left of this season. Would great to have him if he can still play a bit. This team is not the 1986 Celtics. They can use more firepower. I have no idea what Melo has left but if he sucks you just do not play him or waive him.

Melo would not only be taking playing time from our rookies but shots from Gallo, Lou and Shamet. We're not winning the championship this year so wasting a roster spot and valuable postseason experience on deadweight hurts us more when everyone on the roster right now needs to go through the trial by fire for future seasons.

I understand your point of view. My point of view you play playoff games to win. They are not a development league. I'm not even sure what Melo has left so you bring him in for a workout and see if he could help the team. If he does not look good you do not sign him. If he could help the team then I see him taking minutes at the end of a rotation. Green, Temple or Chandler would give up those minutes. SGA and Shammy would still play legit minutes as their role is much different.

I think they should reach out to Zach Randolph. If he is in shape he could provide a veteran presence and post scoring. I’m really surprised nobody signed him yet

We can play to win but bringing in a hired gun with no long-term future who takes playing time away from our young players hurts us down the road from an experience standpoint. You have to look at the big picture. Is that really worth doing, especially given our odds in the playoffs this season? It's the same proposition as trading away Tobias Harris, otherwise, we'd have futilely kept him going all out to try to win now and eventually lose him in free agency for nothing. Lest we forget, Doc has a tendency to overuse and play inefficient players at the expense of the team, so do you really want to risk that he won't with Melo?
Speaking of which, I came across this hilarious Ringer video with Ryen Rusillo going to rehab over his continued illogical love of Jeff Green. I'm sure we know some who should attend. Rusillo is spot on with his self-assessment of apologists enabling his insanity.

I agree that Melo would be a hired gun. I would be okay with a hired gun if he helped the team win. This team has had a lot of turnover on this team so one guy coming and going in a short time is not a big concern of mine. I do not even like Melo. I just feel like if the team can be improved and win games in the playoffs you do what it takes within reason to do it. The Tobias trade was different because that brought back assets and draft choices. Melo (or whoever) would be free. SGA and Shammy are guards. Melo would not take many of their minutes. Melo is basically a PF now. For me the question is not will Melo hurt the team in the future. For me the question is would Melo help the team in the playoffs. If he will not help then the discussion is moot. I only want a guy that will help the team win. If Melo would not help the team or Doc would misuse him then I would be dead set against it. People say the Clips are gone after the first round. Many say they will be swept. I understand their odds of getting out of the first round are not good but I never say die. I didn't to start the season. I didn't after the Tobias trade and I'm not now. Is that naive? Maybe. Would I try to bang my head through a brick wall to win a playoff series? Probably. I could be 100% wrong. I just want to win. That is the bottom line for me. I do not like Melo. I'd take almost anyone that could help us next week.

The real joke is this obsession of hating on Jeff Green after all these years. He's a spare part, and always finds his way into the rotation. This year he went for 12 points a game, 48% shooting and 35% from 3, with 4 rpg, all around his career averages. Not great, not horrible. At 6'9" he gives you some length. He's a guy. Better than Lance Stephenson, whom we traded him for. ¯\_(ツ)_/

Good idea but of course, he was never exactly in shape.

Guy who could barely dunk was an incredible rebounder. He had such good instincts about where the ball was going. He could not jump high but had very good timing. The bottom line for me is I want to win. If dressing Doc gave us a better chance to win I would say do it.

some peeps still talking about Melo? lol we are a team of selfless guys playing off of Pat Beverly's grit and leadership. signing Melo would effectively disrupt the very soul of this squad.
case closed, from months ago. Melo is washed up, and have been for a few years now. let this BS die already.
