Oh Mann! This kid is special! 1 assist away from a triple double? Hustling every game! Looking like a steal. 7 turnovers though, definitely need to clean that up. He did so much everywhere else though that you almost didn’t notice those turnovers. Glad we signed him to a contract and not a two way earlier. Maybe he can break the rotation later in the season.

Finally, a Jerome sighting. Shot is on point, play making is bad. He’s not a PG, needs to focus on scoring. Few times he has an open layup/drive and ended up making a bad pass.

Fi hands are worrisome, hoping that’s something he can improve on. His range continues to show though, great consistently in his shot!

agree

but the real brilliance is the Clippers turning him into a PG
he just might be our 3rd string PG
dominant at 6-7

instead of struggling as a skinny mid-sized swingman

Sindarius was an abominable ballhandler [I can show you the stats]
and Ty not really one either

I don't wanna get too excited
but he just buried a corner 3

Sam will be a great mentor for him. Get him to pace his game to limit some of his TOs

good point, TNE
Sam I Am turned Austin Rivers into an NBA player LOL

T-Mann finished 15 points on 7-8 shooting
11 rebs and 9 assists

woof

but also 7 TOs

OTOH, some [many?] of those TOs were miscommunications between instant teammates that get charged to T-Mann

I didn't see much of what Larry Brown calls "scatterass" all night

Terance's mom was an NCAA coach, you know
she'd give him hell when he got home

have I mentioned I like this guy :D

Yeah, no. Austin was a net-negative player here just like he's been everywhere else.

I know we're in win now mode and everything, but I hope Mann gets a few PG minutes instead of signing some over the hill vet.

I was telling my buddies that Terrance Mann was picked by the Logo to have a sort of Draymond Glue guy type of effect. Tonight's game just confirms it, almost had a triple double already! His advanced stats in college show elite defensive IQ and the eye test matches. I hope he gets some run time with the big boys when the season starts, I think he's ready to contribute at an NBA level. At least probably more ready than Fi.

Good to see somebody else watched the game. Some of our East Coast--and Europe--Clipper Nation will watch it on DVR delay and join in.

I agree about Da Mann. I was on him from the first but it was only because his court sense enabled him to adapt so quickly to the PG role the Clippers brain trust [Jerry?] gave him. He looks like he's playing against statues out there.

Also agree that J-Rome shows no real aptitude for the game except for the 3-ball. Everything T-Mann is not and vice-versa. With no handles or court vision, Robinson cannot really play the point. Which is OK. I'm sure he can drive off the 3-ball fake too, so he can be a legit NBA scorer. His defense may become adequate but he shows no interest in steals or rebounding. But that's OK too. He can score and he stays in front of his man. That'll do.

As for Fi, he's already got the jumper Trezz is working so hard on. Now he needs to get what Trezz has got. Eye of the Tiger. Although you can teach shooting, you can't teach heart. We shall see.

Not going to jump the gun at all on our new acquisitions but my inner self is wondering, "Did Jerry West do it again?" This is getting scary

even if we sign a vet now or later we can let the first half of the year play itself out

lots of #DocRiversScholarships, LOL

lots of load management
so let the kids play

best of both worlds
sweet

let's play our hand for now and think about seedings later

the NBA trade deadline is exactly 10 days before the All-Star Game, meaning it will always fall on a Thursday. The exact cutoff time for trades is at 3 pm EST.

Great catch, MTV.

I dunno about scouting or setting up a Clippers tour of North Korea, but Dennis is the baddest badass of all time. 5 rings. HOF with the lowest ppg of all time[?]. Coaching, one-on-one sessions? Giving insane inspirational Bluto speeches?

5 rings. Role player. Psycho dog. Just what a team built around Kawhi George needs.

The Clippers played our REAL players Jerome/Fi/Mann/Coffey a lot of minutes in Game 3, where we played well and won comfortably. Summer league mission accomplished. There will be plenty of reps for them in preseason.

If memory serves, the last few years the Clips have used Game 4 to give minutes to the back of the roster as a sort of thank you and of course for them to get some video to show prospective employers. So don't be surprised if we make no real effort to win this one.

ADD: I see Homie Flom mostly agrees.

https://www.clipsnation.com/2019/7/11/20690006/clippers-take-on-kings-in-final-game-of-preliminary-round-in-summer-league

Will the Clippers rest any players: As Summer League drags along, more and more of the rostered NBA players sit so as to not risk injury. The Clippers have four players that will be on their roster one way or another this year: Jerome Robinson, Mfiondu Kabengele, Terance Mann, and Amir Coffey. It would not be surprising if at least one of those players were to sit at some point in the remainder of Summer League, with Robinson and Mann being the most likely candidates. Not only does this protect the players the Clippers are most interested in, but it also gives a greater opportunity to players who do not have a spot on an NBA roster, and who therefore need the exposure more. I think all of those young guys need reps, so I wouldn’t mind them playing all of Summer League, but I can understand if the Clippers rest them a bit.
