FTR, just because I expressed some skepticism at Moe and his numbers for $11M a year doesn't mean that I'm not pulling for him as a Clipper. I was at a game where he wore us out, and not having seen him play every night, this was cool to run across.

A New Clipper Culture kinda guy. Maybe outclassed, but never outworked.

I bet getting this pick was critical in landing Paul George. Even if the exact pick is not moved (though I’m guessing it is), Clips can offer a boatload of picks without violating Stepien rule.

We get to keep our 2020 pick and give Jerry a swing for the fences player or for use in a trade to upgrade this “win now” roster.

It’s much more important to have the 2020 pick since we can’t trade the 2021 pick because the 2022 pick is going out. It’s also important to keep the 2021 pick in case we need to deal it on draft night to add to this “win now” roster. So this pick being in clearly helps.

We gave up “everything” to get Paul George but still have a chance to improve this “win now” roster. Here OKC, build a future when we’re done with our run.

We are not “stuck” like in Lob City days.

Presti may not have even wanted our 2020 pick because it might just be the 30th. :wink:

20th is meh enough but 30th is no better than a 2nd rounder. I'd rather have the Clippers' unprotected 2026, which could turn out to be worth something.

Klutch Sports trying to stick it to the other team in LA? Not trying to have LeIndian Giver outdone by his rival team?

I can’t think of many reasons Morris would turn down the money or this org and then pivot to SAS???
Silver really needs to look into this. Something doesn’t seem right here. Him firing them makes me more suspicious.

We would have been the toughest team since the 90s Knicks imo with Marcus.
92 version with X, Oak, and Mason.

Would have been fun AF.

Wow. I saw the Rich Paul firing, and then this came out. If the offer to Morris was for 3 years $41m and Rich Paul made him turn that down, I can see a malpractice suit down the line

I don't think it would be a malpractice suit. I was thinking about this since I'm an attorney lol. Definitely can include Breach of Contract, Breach of Fiduciary Duty, Breach of Duty of Good Faith and Fair Dealing, things like that. The main factual grounds would kinda have to do Rich Paul putting external/personal interests over those of his own client.
