Not sure what that twitter guy is on about, but I’m pretty sure we have zero capspace, only veteran minimums. JaMykal goes into the room exception so he doesn’t affect it either. After the Harkless deal we had about $34M in capspace, signing Kawhi leaves us with about $2M. George trade puts us over the cap already, and then you have to factor Beverley, Zubac and McGruder re-signing to way over their bird rights. We might be closer to the tax than to the cap.

My understanding is by waiving Ty and Sin, as well as coming to terms with Rodney and Zu so we can rescind their QO's while retaining the smaller cap holds we were able to generate some more flexibility

But that is gone as soon as you execute the trade and re-sign the other guys, isn’t it? I guess they haven’t made it official yet in case something good comes up, but you can’t postpone it much more I think. Presti’s gonna need the trade done pretty soon I’d guess.

It'll be interesting to see if we start Shamet or Green. I personally think it'll be Bev/George/Kawhi/Green/Zubac. Don't want Kawhi playing the 4 too often in the regular season and George also hates it.

I think that will be starting 5 as well, but expect heavy minutes for Shamet at the point, in fact I think he may start some games over Bev. We are probably gonna have many different rotations with either Green or Harrel playing small ball 5 while Shamet is playing at PG or SG.

With the way the game is now played, there arent that many bruiser PF types ot there anymore. They're all smallball stretch 4 types, think Dudley, Carroll, JaGreen, people that PG13/Kawhi can trivially cover, rather than hulking monsters like prime LMA, Horford, AD, etc, who they sure as **** shouldnt be guarding full-time.

Against most squads, the Clips can get away with PG13 or Kawhi covering the 4. Against squads with a monster at the 4, then sic JaGreen at them, and bump Shamet to the bench while PG13 and Kawhi slide down a spot to the 2/3, assuming its a day that they both play in. Shamet backs up the SG slot while Lou Will backs up PG. Versatility is a wonderful thing, very similar to how the overloaded with talent Dodgers juggle their personnel around against pitching matchups and load managing players by giving constant days off to their regulars, since their "backups" are so elite.

Nah expect Lou to take those minutes at point. Get the most out of Shamet being a young JJ


As for Green, obviously great to bring him back he should get paid with bird rights next summer. But im still uncertain with our big rotation, Zu might be unplayable vs bigger names in the playoffs coz he's so young and inexperienced
