PRESEASON 2: Lakers @ Clippers Sunday 5:30PM--Prime Ticket

A lackluster Game 1 had only one bright spot--Kawhi and PG each put in 14 minutes at plus+13. The 2020-2021 season rides on them and their Clippers coming to play hard every minute of every night.

The Lakers do, and they're the reigning champs. Until you beat the champ, you ain't jackspit. I don't care who wins this game but the Clippers from Kawhi and PG on down to the 20th man better send the message starting NOW: To beat us you have to outwork us---and nobody's going to outwork us.

“So all that is buying into a better culture and us just being present, seeing us focus in that first practice or in these games, it just trickles down and these guys know it’s no playing around.”

No Playing Around. Right, Kawhi.

“I think Kawhi and PG every night have to set the tone for us defensively along with Pat Beverley and they did it tonight on the defensive end,” Lue said.

You got that right too, Coach. Every night. No More F***ing Around. And that 23 turnovers on Friday has to go too. No more scatterass, as Larry Brown used to all it. Reality comes at you quick. The Lakers beat us with their scrubs.

It's the preseason man.

It's a short season, pre-season is 3 games, first game of the season is a week from Tuesday, so I can certainly understand the urgency, but the starters played about a quarter of game time last game, so it doesn't say much.

I don't mind mistakes in pre-season, it's a time to test out and fine tune things. They might go a little harder vs Utah on the 17th with that being the final pre-season game.

This season is coming quick, that's for sure.

That is music to my ears.

Somebody said things weren't going to change with Lue at the helm because Lue was sitting next to him last year.

A lot of ball movement we have to protect the rim a bit better. Better off letting Gasol shoot

What is Kawhi doing out there? I'm staying off Twitter if we lose this one. I'm not dealing with the "Lakers won without Bron & AD" crowd tonight.

"It's only preseason" is not a valid excuse to look this consistently awful against the Lakers' scrubs.

Want us to develop someone. Rather the young bigs or Zu shoot a bunch of shots instead of this

Well, you have 3 guards vying to make the final roster. We know what we have in Zu. And he's only taken 3 shots. He's definitely not taking away from anyone's development

Pre season is always hard to watch.

Things certainly need to be cleaned up but a lot of that will be fixed when the main guys play their regular minutes and the rotations are more locked down.

Turnovers might take a little longer to clean up as Lue is having them move the ball so much more and have guys relocating after the pass. Add in the new guys and learning where they like to be could be messy for awhile.

so we got our ass kicked for the second time in a row to Kuzma, KCP and a 20 year old no one had ever heard of until two nights ago, while playing our full starters.
if the coaching staff and front office want the fans not care about the result because it's just "pre-season" they should schedule the games against Suns or Kings, and not against our rivals OR play to **** win. this is insulting.

Still would like to see him be posted up more to work on that aspect with the second unit. Fi didn’t look nearly as excited this game coming in so late but still was physical with Harrell until Harrell was switched on Oturu

Exhibit A of why I wasn't on board with the Lue hire. Clearly he has the same irrational grudge against playing Zu that Doc had. I haven't seen anything on the court so far that gives me any faith in this guy.
