Why on Earth are we still running this awful drop coverage on defense when it's blatantly not working? Is Lue trying to lose the game?

Drop coverage is the current NBA darling pick and roll defense. You don't necessarily want to run it against guys like Lillard, etc who will try and pick up the foul on the trailing defender or pull up with little space, but there's no pick and roll defense that doesn't give up something. Just have to determine what something your team can best defend.

Clippers have given up under 110 in 10/12 previous games, so I'm not really going to say that the defensive scheme isn't working because of one game.

Terrible foul by Kennard, ahhh! I know he was trying to recover to contest, but had to be more controlled there. The defensive possession wasn't even bad overall. Not sure what Lue is challenging though

The contract was questionable and still is, the FO was hedging their bet, but they would only be justified if Kennard had a HUGE season, and so far he hasn't (though not bad by any means), which simply means they could have easily waited until the off-season to make the same deal or not if they didn't want to.
