Well, the pick we traded [threw away] to get Fi became Saddiq Bey so the book on that isn't closed yet
An exceptional point!
I was being a bit more basic... if you find a quality top 8-9 guy once every 3 or 4 2nd round picks, that's productive...

Did Mann just played his best game against his former coach who didn't give him enough minutes? well.. apparently Mann thinks that way. I like this kid. Ice friggin cold, just cold.

Nice game! Onto the Bucks.
That 22 pt comeback might have turned the season around for us.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this already.
We are in a 5 game winning streak. Mann is playing 27.6 minutes and averaging 15.4 points per game, he is showing he can defend players who are bigger than him, and efficient in the offense. 40% 3P, 57% FG.
I like his hustle too. Not trying to do much, knows his strength and working hard. One thing that caught my eye against Hawks and paid close attention against Spurs is that he always boxes out. Like our coaches thought us as one of the top fundamental things in basketball. Always box out. I like it.

All I know is, Mark Jackson better call one of our playoff games, and he better say "Mama, there goes that Mann" at least once

Mann's development from the guy we would put in for the last 3 seconds of a quarter to guard desperations shots last year to reliable rotation player this year is awesome. He's playing probably a little over his head just because he's not afraid and doesn't back down to anybody. With his emergence and the addition of Rondo, I see us with 9 dependable two-way players in a post-season rotation:
Rondo/Bev
PG/Mann
Kawhi
Morris/Batum
Zubac/Ibaka
We can afford to cut Luke and/or Reggie out of the rotation entirely if we absolutely have to for defensive purposes.

i mean it's kinda looking like luke's still out of the rotation, right?
mann is taking all his minutes, and when beverley gets his starting job back, that spells the end of luke, especially with rondo eventually getting put into the rotation.

Yea, I don't see where Luke is in the rotation still. It still looks like when healthy:
Beverley/George/Leonard/Morris/Ibaka
Bench:
Rondo/Jackson/Mann/Batum/Zubac
Playoffs, the bench is likely to only have 4 consistent guys playing, which could have Reggie as the primary guy who is in/out based in foul trouble, matchups and how guys are playing, but Luke as the secondary guy.
Luke still looks like a guy who will be in/out of the rotation based on how he's playing and the opponent, but doesn't seem like he's cemented himself in the rotation.
People hate on Reggie (not so much anymore), but he's shooting 46/41, he's a better defender than Luke, he has a 3-1 a/t ratio.
I'd love Luke to break into the rotation, but he has to prove he belongs there over someone else. On the other hand, they might decide that Luke's shooting is important to pair with Rondo who teams still play off of.

Doc still picking Clippers/Lakers out West
“Listen, Utah has been great. But I still think the Clippers and Lakers are still the teams to beat in the West,” Rivers said before the Clippers won their fifth straight with a 122-112 win over the Sixers.

I think it took all of last year for him to catch up to the NBA game, so he could start playing his way again. Even if his 3 point shooting levels off, the other aspects of his game should still continue to improve.

I think we all want to see Luke get some minutes to show what he can do, but if he gets shut out because Mann and Williams are playing out of their minds then I'll take that every day of the week. I do want to see Luke get minutes here and there just to stay involved somewhat in case we need him to step up later (injury, a bout of Reggie turnovers, cold shooting by other guys, whatever...)
