Round 2 game 6 v. Jazz.... 7 p.m. ESPN

Post#1 » by Kelphus » Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:20 pm

Clippers play tonight without Kawhi, nobody seems to know how long his disability will persist. Looks like Jazz will again not have Conley and Mitchell's ankle is really taking its toll on his play as we saw in Game 5.

Vegas doesn't believe- have us as 2 point underdogs at home. For a time we were down to one point but I see it's back up to 2 points, so some Jazz bettors weighed in.

I see no reason why this team cannot tonight repeat what it did Wednesday. The full extent of our depth was revealed, and PG13 was exactly the superstar we wanted.

I am looking forward to a very nice bottle of wine, some smoked chicken in my backyard, and a Clipper win taking us to our first WCF... to face a Suns team without CP3 on Sunday.

Let's go Clippers Let's Go (can't stand Clipper Darrell but couldn't resist)

Clipper Taylor clearly had her major mojo helping us Wednesday.. now today... we pull out the biggest mojo guns possible......

If Conley does play tonight he's going to be on one leg like Harden's first game back with Brooklyn the other day. This is going to be about defense tonight. Lets swarm and lock them up!

Actually i hop that Conley does play with his gimpy hammy. He's gonna disrupt their offense if he cant push off and drive and dish. Just gotta suffocate him and not let him get ANY open shots to get into rhythm.

i imagine he'll try but i can't imagine he would be a positive influence, physically. mentally, could be a thing, though. i mean i imagine they all felt pretty cooked after losing game 5, so rallying around an injured conley could change a lot for them.

If I had to guess, 94% capacity. Why I say 94, that's a consistent number I've been seeing in sold out places. I think largely because of the lower bowl with the players being cleared from fans. In Utah it was 98% capacity

so we'll see.

Hammys are tricky. One day you an feel good and play, then the next day it could go. He could be good this game or good for a crucial stretch then his hammy could go. So don't be surprised. Idk how to feel about him playing, I feel him being back could rally his guys and I feel with the adrenaline running, the fear of being eliminated can fuel him to not reinjure it.

Or he could be a liablity. It's so up in the air that I don't know.

Full Capacity: https://www.nba.com/clippers/news/la-clippers-return-full-capacity-staples-center-game-6-against-utah-jazz-friday-june-18 - Since this is the 1st chance to clinch a spot in the WCF at home in franchise history, I expect it to be unreal.

I had to dig into the archives of Clippers gear past and found my Clippers towel they handed out for our single home playoff game back in 1997.

If Conley and Mitchell are hobbled and out there, then Terrance Mann and PBev need to be all over them with tight D forcing them to make sharp cuts and test those injuries. I expect 48 minutes of tight D. It is going to take a collective effort with precision on each possession.

We opened as 2 point dogs, then it trended to just 1 point dogs, then back up to 2. That means Jazz bettors have some faith, and more of those than Clipper bettors

Jazz bettors are hopeful but wrong, and they will lose their money tonight... and pursue the usual Clipper refrain "wait til next year."

I can't think about anything else but this game...
Wish I was in L.A. for this game!

I'm going to try to crash the JAZZ Watch Party at their arena (here in Utah). In case they restrict entrance, I'll be wearing my CLIPPERS jersey underneath... until I'm in my seat.

CLIPPER NATION will be presented in UTAH's Vivint Arena.

PG's Achilles heel that keeps him below the highest level of stars is his consistency. Now, Utah will also likely come out with a scheme to get the ball out of his hands and contain him, but if he gets the openings, this game will be a rest of his ability to be consistent.

Going to be a slugfest. Like always, I hope for a comfortable Clippers blowout to keep anxiety levels down, but in the end, just want a win. With the full capacity home crowd for the first time, maybe the Clippers will get a boost.

Last game, Morris played well on the road, which has not been common for him in the playoffs, and even in the regular season, he was much better at home. So let's also hope that being home gives him that boost and we see a nice performance from him because it will be needed.

When PG went to OKC, he was content to let Westbrook be Batman. It was Wes's team. When he came here, PG stayed in the Robin role because he knew Kawhi was Batman. Now, PG get to be Batman again and Reggie, Morris and any of the other can fight to be Robin. I think PG has his Mojo back and expect him to be fired up tonight.

I think back to the Utah series and there was one 3 pt shot in the 4th Qtr that PG took that just looked different. He missed the shot, but everything about the shot just looked better and PG looked more confident. I saw that as a turning point for his shooting in this series.

It would be a wonderful thing if we could get something from Rondo tonight as I think we're going to need him for a closeout game
