Re: Jackson back
Thats right what I anticipated. There was no way we were going to give Reggie 4 years.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

I was thinking he will get the 3rd and 4th year partially guaranteed at least. This is amazing for us regardless.

Re: Jackson back
Not really a surprise that he's back, and it's great to see how team-friendly the contract is in case last year was just a contract year phenomenon and not a turning point. Welcome back, Reggie!

Re: Jackson back
Could the 2nd year be a PO? If so and if he were to opt-out, would we have his full bird rights next year?

It’s fully guaranteed and no options.

With only Early Bird Rights, this was the max contract the Clippers could give him. The years at only two helps both ways too, Clippers can play it safe and not sign him to too long, but he's also likely thinking that at worst he can get another MLE type contract in two seasons if he doesn't outplay this one.

Oh yeah, I was mainly thinking of the years. It's possible that he plays himself into a better contract 2 years from now, but at his age the possibility of him not quite living up to the last 2 years of a 4 year deal is just as or more likely IMO (that's a statement about Father Time, not Reggie.)

Re: Jackson back
I'm surprised he re-signed. That post game interview where he started crying almost seemed like a farewell speech, knowing that he would get a lot of interest after that great Playoff performance he had. Glad he decided to stay for a couple more years and give it another go in 22-23.
With Reggie and Nico re-signing, this team is just getting more wholesome by the minute.

Re: Jackson back
Glad and not at all surprised by re-signing. He played his heart out, particularly in the playoffs and kept us legitimate along with PG13. He was very emotional in interviews. Speaks well of the team and its front office that these guys all wanted to stay. Glad he is one of them. Our future is still bright, a certain healing ACL notwithstanding
