We really don’t need him back and his defense made him unplayable

Don't think we really need him at the start of the season

It depends in the matchup. Everyone knows he’s not even 75% of his all-star form but he would show flashes of it occasionally. When we badly needed some offense down low, he delivered especially when Zubac was being ineffective.

It’s slim pickings for free agent centers if the Clippers dump Oturu.

Cousins, Biyambo, Hartenstein, Giles, and Fall.

I feel Boogie is more playable right now than Oturu, but maybe let them play 1-on-1 for the final center spot?

I think I'd rather see us experiment with Giles, Tacko Fall, Jontay Porter, etc. than either Boogie or Oturu at this point, unless Boogie is really going to commit to making one last run at being a factor player and get in the best shape of his life.

You definitely sign Boogie if we don't have Zu or Ibaka healthy. With those two getting their minutes and you have to figure in the small ball lineups in certain games, then there's not any minutes for Boogie who's going to want to play. I kind of see how Oturu fits for now as he can be the third string big, garbage time player, cheap contract, and not complain one bit about playing time.

Gotta be a reason Boogie's still on the vine and Drummond--who's still in his prime--only got a minimum deal. Heck, the Clippers ran all over and through DPOY Gobert. What chance does Boogie have out there?

Rudy Gobert was a defensive liability for the Jazz in Game 6 against the Clippers and these stats prove it

Wasn’t a single moment during the playoffs that Boogie was being more effective. His defense was that bad and his shot selection went off course if he played more than 4 minute stretches while the frustration fouls stacked up

if zubac hadn't gone out we woulda won the sun series. it's criminal to suggest that cousins made up for zubac's missing presence.

as far as bringing him back, i mean as a 3rd stringer sure i guess. but he's still gonna be borderline unplayable in any serious matchup. honestly i'd rather go after someone else if possible. i just don't know who that might be.

Very good point. In 2021, I don't think anybody knows what to do with bigs--the 5 or even the 4. You got Joker and Embiid but 2-time All-Star and FOUR-time rebounding champ Andre Drummond got bought out and now just signed for the freaking MINIMUM as Embiid's caddy.

The league is telling us something.

I was working on something about Zubac's [$7M this year with a team option next year] relative market value/trade value when Drummond is playing for minimum wage but I scrapped it. TBH, I really have no idea. I'm a WHO guy [Zubac, Reggie @ $18M combined] more than a WHAT guy [Drummond, Schroder @ $8M combined]. The other guys are better on paper and even better at the price, but I love Zu and Reggie. They are CLIPPERS.

OTOH, Zu will never get anywhere near the All-Star team and Reggie is already past his prime for 6MOY, which Schroder almost won. Help a brother out here.

Cousins could have played nice in Sacramento, not get traded at deadline to Pelicans and signed a $171M extension in the Summer of 2017. Same extension John Wall signed. He would have been making $44M this coming season. Now, he can't even find a minimum contract.

Totally forgot about this. Boogie, Dipo, Schroeder...all bet on themselves and lost, then, you got Tobi who won.

NBA is crazy man
