Mann needs to find a go to shot and worry less about flexing.

Hartenstein is no better, that''s why he came to the Clips on a NON-guaranteed contract. Trad 5s are mostly useless in the NBA in the year 2021. The Nets dumped DJ for Griffin at the 5. They ALL suck.

3 minutes left and he takes out the starters down 16? I wonder what message he's sending.

I think the Clippers need to accept they are going to lose a lot of games this season and just try to develop their young players. We already know PG13 can score forty plus points when he wants to. Guys like Mann and Kennard should be getting twenty field goal attempts a game each. Might as well start playing the rookies too.

The FO dropped the ball big time this off season. Knowing we need more scoring and shooting with Kawhi out, we went out and got Bledsoe and Winslow as our main acquistion. :banghead:

I'd rather try to move some players around so this isn't a lost year. This team is old. We don't have much time left.

How the hell did I actually think this awful team would make the play-in? OKC is getting an amazing draft pick this year courtesy of our terrible front office, who should all be fired.

The bottom line for idiotic moves like these is that we have yet another unqualified former coach pretending to be a GM. Until we get an actual GM who knows what they're doing, this franchise is never sniffing a ring. You can't win with guys like Dunleavy, Doc, and now Frank - who weren't even good coaches - trying to keep up with the Prestis and Schlenks of the league in a completely different job.

This is virtually the same exact team who managed to nearly make the finals without Kawhi last year. WE'll make the play in unless this team and coach are just mentally weak.

We got lucky last year with Reggie playing way over his head in a contract year, something he'll clearly never come close to replicating, but our incompetent front office still bought in anyway.

That's never going to happen 5 games into the season. If 30-40 games into the season they are only winning like 30% of their games, that's when something like that could happen.

Here were some starts and finishes last season:
Miami: 7-13 / 40-32
Washington: 5-15 / 34-38
Phoenix: 8-8 / 51-21
New York: 9-11 / 41-31
Atlanta: 5-7 / 41-31
Dallas: 8-12 / 42-30

No team like this is going to decide their season is a development season 5 games in, and it would be stupid to do so. Lue at some point in time is likely to make some lineup adjustments to try and find more effective units.

I don't know. It's only 3 games. PG has looked good and all we need is someone to step in. We need Batum to pick up some of the scoring since Reggie is just chucking up shots.
Maybe start Mann over Reggie?

There are like 9 people in the Clippers front office my man . This isn't bare bones Donald Sterling front office stuff where one guy is making all the decisions.

This was the scenario.. Outside of PG we were looking for 4-6 things happening to have a good start to the season:

-Morris Sr. becoming the #2 option on offense
-A leap in play from Kennard
-A leap in play from Mann
-The continued above average playoff play from Reggie
-A resurgence-comeback year from Bledsoe
-Maybe the rook Brandon Boston gets some minutes
-Serge healed up and ready to play
etc..

Now maybe two or three of these things happens at best which has us win a few games early on but none of them happening is just flat out disgusting :nonono:

Lucky or not, pre-Clippers, Reggie's previous 5 seasons he averaged 16/3/5 and shot 43/35. If you actually think he will shoot 32/30 for the rest of the season, you're just not being realistic. We all remember 19/20. Beverley shot 37/22 in his first 18 games, he finished the season 43/39. Back in the Lob City days, 14-15, Redick shot 37/31 the first 10 games, people were going wild, like this crap doesn't happen every season to some player. He finished the season 48/44. If we aren't going to learn from history, we might as well just give up

Reggie is not an All-Star, but Reggie is in a slump and he will not remain in that slump for 70+ more games unless his arm is broken and he's trying to play all season with it.

Lillard came into this game averaging 18 ppg on 33/17 for example. Do we expect him to stay there?

With Kawhi out, we're in that place where everybody is asked to play one or two slots higher than what they're actually capable of.

Only PG is surpassing that. Kennard is pleasantly surprising me by doing what a 6th man should--although nowhere near what Jamal and Lou did year after year, Luke really stepped up tonight while EVERYONE else was MIA if not WTF.

With Kawhi out, Reggie is being asked to do too much. Bledsoe shouldn't be starting. Zubac is running around one step behind the action. Glue Guy Batum has nothing to glue. Mann is a Swiss Army Knife who doesn't know whether his job is to open a can, stab it, screw it, or file its nails.

At the moment, our only hope is the return of my least favorite Clipper, Marcus Morris, to at least restore some order. I'm so :censored:ed.

True but at the same time he was pretty much out of the league too as we called him back at the very last season to rejoin the team on a minimum deal and even then he was supposed to be the 15th guy at the end of the bench. We had some injuries and he caught lightning in a bottle and played above his norm all the way into the post season. Now we're trying to find out which Reggie we have.. Playoff Reggie or Pistons Reggie. Hopefully he breaks out of his slump or else he could be washed

I get that. Being almost out of the league is still almost, and is not being out, and you can get right back in if you are good. These guys if they are good enough (which Reggie is) can get back in very quickly, hours quickly. Like teams who realize that the previous team isn't signing guys like him would make calls as soon as they see the player is now truly available.

Reggie wouldn't have made it past training camp without someone picking him up and giving him a chance for the minimum if it became clear that the Clippers were not re-signing him. Guys like Austin Rivers can stick around every season, and some team picks him up and puts him in the rotation. DJ Augustin for example continues to stick around, nothing special about him and he's never going to put a team over the top.

So do I really believe Reggie wouldn't have been picked up? No.

Reggie will get back on track. Will he shoot 45/43 like last season? Maybe, maybe not, but I'd expect him to shoot at least 42-43% FG and 37-38% 3PT by the time we are 20-30 games in. Right now all we know is that he's had a bad 5 game shooting stretch, it's just that when it is in the beginning of the season, it understandably looks worse and people tend to overreact to these stretches vs when they are in the middle, though they are essentially the same thing.

Same thing happened with Bev's great performance in the 2019 playoffs with the Shai-Gallo team. It was a peak, it wasn't a new norm. And our FO rewarded them both with top-of-the-market contracts.

But in fairness to the FO, we miss Bev and as much as he's been struggling, think about it---we'd be positively SCREWED without Reggie right now. We don't have ANYTHING resembling a point guard on this roster.

OR a leader. At least Bev could fake both. I'm not down on the trade and I'm not down on the player, but Bledsoe can't fake either. Reggie does the best he can.
