No excuse to not find Johnson some minutes. Spot minutes at least.

Sacto has such great fans--they deserve so much better

amazing how little an accomplished pro like Harrison Barnes has done to raise their culture as in...nothing

clearly, it's just a paycheck for him or SOMEBODY would have traded for him by now

Great team effort tonight. PG was mediocre but everyone who played chipped in. Bledsoe did great leading the team tonight. Ibaka showed he has life. Impressed with the youngsters holding down the fort at the beginning of the 4th.

Really efficient game by Ibaka. If he's healthy, he should definitely get some minutes. Bledsoe with a sneakily good game as well, and a team high +20.

Coffey providing some solid minutes off the bench as well. Nothing fancy, just good d, and playing within the offense.

Next game is against the Nuggets, should be a good game.

bledsoe was so good this game. and ibaka clearly showing he's still an impact player.

keon johnson looks so comfortable out there, again, really excited for his future. in the summer league he looked so raw i thought he'd be at least 3 years from being anything meaningful. but hey, he got his reps in and worked hard in the g-league, and was ready to compete. don't let anyone tell you the g-league doesn't provide value to this team. btw, thank goodness for ty lue. if doc were still around, both johnson and boston would still have 0 real minutes played this season and tonight's game would have been headlined by 35 minutes of rajon rondo. we now have a shot at maybe 1 or 2 of the young guys being impact players by the end of the season, and their development will only be accelerated that much faster.

overall the team looked a lot better than last game and i think we could see some signs of the defense coming together. still too many open threes given up for my taste, but you gotta start somewhere.

Clippers definitely took the Kings seriously, despite some hiccups along the way. Had they lost tonight, Sacramento's chances at ending the 15-year playoff drought would have been realized.

Bled turns in a Jamal-Lou-Trezz game
emergency starter, team-best PLUS+20

maybe he can finally figure it out here at age 32--his career is very much like Reggie's

and BTW this is why nobody trading for Hield
he bravely stepped up but just didn't hit
it's a Make-Or-Miss League

Bench mob won this one but a great team win to build the lead up to withstand that insane run of the third quarter

With all due respect, this was more than a G-League game but also quite less than a real NBA game. This was a COVID game.

Kings still lead the season series 2-1.

I would agree but most of this is narrative

Doc played the hell out of G-Leaguers Sindarius and Ty Wallace and developed Shai into an NBA-ready starter who became the centerpiece of the Paul George trade

and not only MADE THE PLAYOFFS with no all-stars but shocked the basketball world with 2 playoff wins against the Warriors

let's not get too caught up in a narrative about the G-League either--last week's board pet Brandon went 3-11 and Keon had 4 points and 4 fouls in 15 minutes. He did some nice things out there but so did everybody else...

we beat a 13-20 COVID team

yeah, i'm gonna really be looking at this as a time for the team to rest and reset. some of our idiotically insane schedule is over with, we've done reasonably well to have dodged major covid outbreaks, and kennard, morris, reggie, and hartenstein likely will all return around the same time.

what's really important, imo, is seeing how the core of zubac/pg/morris/batum/reggie gels together, and how lue molds all the other pieces around that core. it feels like the team's been held together with hot glue and duct tape so far and we're still a top tier defensive team. but add in several viable matchup pieces like bledsoe, hartenstein, ibaka, winslow, mann and kennard, we're going to have several options versus any given team.

like, having seen most of the games this season, i still haven't observed a clear identity. but shadows of it are there, and if we're already a top 5 defensive team as is, i think we can really build something special on that end, health permitting.

If we could somehow get a little streak going we could make some separation and nab the 4th or 3rd seed
