Bricks and turnovers. Recipe for a win.

And fouls.

Feels like the Utah game. Guys are on the court but they didn’t come to play.

lol. Morris and Jackson trying to see who can build a house faster.

I can’t watch this anymore.

Its just a dead team playing in a dead part of the season. Need a star player back badly. Tuning in to watch Reggie, Mook, Zu, and company try to play well is a chore

Completely and utterly unwatchable. This team went to **** at the All-Star break. I'll be shocked if we win another game the rest of the year. Sad ending to what looked like a fun season at one point.

Honestly I haven't found much motivation to watch the team play recently. I am guessing I am not alone here, judging by all the recent game threads.

Can't wait for the next round of fake rumors about PG/Kawhi coming back to distract from the mess of a team on the court right now.

—Reggie carried us for a month or two but is just fried now
—Zu is Zu
—Mook has no excuse
—and Kennard is probably the biggest MIA of all

—RoCo and Mann are solid action guys who can't create
—and God Bless minimum wagers Coffey and Hart who earn every dime

Role players all, waiting for their roles in the real movie...

If the team is fried now then they’re going to be fried for the playoffs too. If they make the playoffs. I’m not sure they can beat Minnesota the way they’re playing. They’re certainly not beating Denver. I think they can beat the Lakers but not the Pelicans depending how the final chips fall.

Whatever reinforcements coming will be on minutes restrictions and need time to find their legs and rhythm. Not to mention the team having to adapt to it.

Consolation prize? They’ll face Memphis or Phoenix in the first round.

Not feeling confident about any of that.

Yeah, they're largely role players--but they're starters too. The real problem is the oldest one in the book. PG, Kawhi, and Powell--they're scorers. People talk about shooting like it's the be-all end all for everything. Sham was a very good shooter who was a lousy scorer. Luke is a great shooter that's a better scorer--but is still below average. We've got a team full of people that don't score that much now, and it's killing us. The only real scorer we have on the team--and, to me, a scorer is a guy who's at 16 points per 36 or above--is, as esqvtd said, Reggie. Mook is kinda sorta close, but not really. If you don't score points, you won't win. We're missing our #1, #2, and #3 shooting/scoring options. Cupboard is bare after that. We were getting by on D, but when you're tired, D is among the first things to go. And we've got almost no scoring. Not a good recipe.

This is a reason why I'm in favor of pursuing Coby White in the offseason. Good passer, very good A/TO ratio. Lousy defender. But he's a good to very good shooter now--and he can score. He just turned 22; he's still improving. I responded to a post about him on the Bulls board--which is kind of funny. The post basically complains about White and wonders if he's worth anything in trade. When you've got a team that's guard heavy and has lots of scorers (LaVine, DeRozan, Vuke) and a couple of good passers/defenders on the wing in Ball and Caruso, White looks like an expendable, lower value piece. Our team has the opposite issue; lots of bigs--we have Batum Covington, Mook, Zu, and Hart right now--but not enough passing and no scoring. A guy that's expendable on one team would be really valuable for us, especially right now.

Toronto, Utah, Denver, Philly is a tough set of opponents even with players missing on some of those teams. There's no magic to overcome talent, I know we all always wish there was some coaching magic or something that can do it, but there's a reason Pop is coaching a 29-44 team and the previous two seasons coached a 33-39 and 32-39 team. He did have DeRozan in two of those seasons though who would be a far superior scorer and playmaker to any current healthy Clipper.

I have little disappointment in these situations because I've seen too much NBA to think this is not a likely situation for a team like this. Right now they have solidified themselves in the playoffs hunt. There are three outcomes:

1) Reinforcements come and the Clippers can maybe quickly get it together and be a scary low seed

2) No reinforcements and lose both games in the play in and go home early

3) No reinforcements and make the playoffs and are first round fodder and go home slightly later

Unless Kawhi and/or George are coming back, this was always the outcome. Whether they win 2-3 more regular season games on the way to that same outcome is not really something to concern myself about personally. Others might decide to be more concerned, but no thanks, waste of my time.

FYI

As the Clippers (36-38), losers of four straight, are ramping up some of their injured headliners, they are also carefully monitoring the workloads of veterans — including guard Reggie Jackson and forwards Marcus Morris Sr. and Nicolas Batum — in an attempt to keep each fresh before the play-in tournament, which follows the April 10 regular-season finale.

Jackson is being held to around a 32-minute limit, Morris at 25 and Batum at 19, Lue said. Jackson is averaging a career-high 31.1 minutes at age 31.

Career high FGA/game as well. Also, a funny Bobby Shmurda reference:
