Lue is doing what I finally wanted. If Wall is not going to start, then you need to change the rotation some. I told everyone last year that Wall is still great. The problem with Wall in Houston is that Silas doesn't demand his guys to set picks so it turns Wall into a iso player. When I watched the clippers early the bench guys were doing the same thing
Batum and those guys slip every pick so it doesn't play to Walls strengths. Now I see where lue said because of that, he has decided to bring in Batum earlier with the first unit while bringing out zubac earlier so he can bring zubac in to play with Wall because he is a pick n roll PG.
Lue is actually doing something very unique. He's letting PG handle the ball at times with Wall as the pick man. If the D doubles or collapses on PG, he passes it back to Wall.
Now you basically have a point guard in Wall receiving the ball back with a 4 on 3 and Wall is one of the best playmakers in the league. He's going to get you an open 3 or a bucket to Zubac every time. A lot of point guards aren't big or strong enough to set those picks alot but wall is.
PG is also a good playmaker so he can hit Morris if wall isn't open. Pretty soon teams will stop trapping him sometimes and then PG can cook one on one. That's pretty genius by Lue
