Kawhi not available? Not to worry. Morris will step in big time and put this team on his back to a W.

The Kings should just light the beam now. Why wait?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they win tonight. This particular team has a habit of surprising us when we have given up on them reigniting our hopes only to have them come crashing down again.
On another note this has been a rough and not very fun last week for the board so here is something funny out of left field.

I fell asleep last night at the start if the 3rd qtr. I woke up to pee at 12:30am , checked my espn alert on my phone and learned that they got blown out .
What the hell happened.

And, about that injury...
If reports and time table are to be believed, Powell could end up missing the season.

Not good. Honestly Russ said he still wants to win 6th man of the year. Maybe he should come off the bench now in Norms absence. Start Mann, although I guess not tonight since no kawhi and maybe no PG

Lue said that the team needs to play harder and have more confidence in themselves. During this losing streak the Clippers have held a few large leads, including last night, but eventually lost. Something has to be going on that is affecting the team, something that keeps undermining them. Be it lack of chemistry, behind the scenes issues, or maybe a lack of a true leader in the locker room.

Also I know Kawhi had his ACL injury and he has to manage it but how can he not play when the team is on life support? If they make the playoffs how can he expect to be able to go on a playoff run if he takes so much time off? You need to build your stamina up and he has looked gassed in the 4th quarters.
These mind boggling decisions are why I am leaning closer and closer to a reset.

I think it's just one thing: fear. Whether it's of expectations or letting their fanbase down, fear has been the common denominator. They're afraid of something bad happening to them. The fear of the unknown.
Clippers must face their fear, whatever that unknown it may be.

Great coaches lead, but a team is always better off with a strong floor leader as well. Kawhi is many things but not a vocal leader, and PG doesn't really seem to be a strong alpha type either. A strong natural leader can really set the tempo and mindset for the team. I think the 2 overtime losses were pretty demoralizing and took a bit of wind out of sails. That's not insurmountable though, let's see if we can show some fight again tonight.
I am curious if in an alternative universe where we win those 2 games, what happens after that? I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got at least a split of the subsequent losses. And that team is looking at 5-1 record post-ASB and 3-1 with Russ. TBH, it was really that close to being that way in this universe.
The only player that could have stepped in and right away influenced the team's mentality was Patrick because he played here. Russ's bulldog personality may actually help later, but as a brand new player with some notoriety he's probably been focused on fitting in rather than leading.

This might explain his recent poor play. Too bad if so given the recovery time, and yet it also means he didn't just forget how to shoot and play basketball.

it's obviously a bad thing for Powell to be injured, but hopefully shortening up the rotation will get some of these guys in a good rhythm- like Gordon and perhaps Bones

Radio talker Colin Cowherd says he has a great contact inside the Clippers org.
This morning Cowherd says the org is exasperated with Kawhi. He has told them as late as 3:30 that he's not playing that night. They never know what they're going to get with this guy and making plans around him is impossible.
Face of the franchise my ass. He's part of the problem, and at $40M and 1/3 of the salary cap, a BIG part of the problem.
