PG has a sprained right knee, to be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks

Felt like this deserved a separate thread, since there's no chance we can make any noise in the playoffs without our second best player being available.

So, it this the best possible news ever or could it be just a smokescreen to keep the team motivated? Do we actually think he'll play another game this season? Can we even make the playoffs without him?

Sound off.

Personally I'm in the "being ready to start next season would be great" camp, but that's just because I've been hurt before.

I’m skeptical because of the secrecy we’re used to with Leonard.

If it’s not a smokescreen then we dodged a bullet. Of course it says he’ll be reevaluated in 2-3 weeks. Hard to tell when on court activities can resume, practice time etc… will play into this.

We’ll have to see how this team responds to his absence to know if we should have any hope or not.

Clippers medical staff is garbage. To be reevaluated in 2-3 weeks means he is done for the season. It's the same story. they are just buying time. In 3 weeks they will announce he will be out for 4-6 weeks, and then he will require surgery that will sideline him for a year. Isn't that how they approached and communicated every major injury our players have in the last decade?

I’ll choose to be the naive one and hope a sprain is all it is…but there’s no way that was just a sprain. Hoping for a full recovery soon. He was ballin that game too, ugh.

No idea who to believe, amazing that we can't believe what the medical staff says.

I'd love to be relieved about this, but as others have said, our medical staff is a joke and can't be trusted.

Without PG in the starting 5, MMSr the rebounding machine has to produce now. No more hiding behind the curtain and try to get away with his typical 5pts/2rebs performance.

Hopefully, PG is going to be back and available for the playoffs. Ballmer needs to purchase a hyperbaric chamber and have PG sleep in it every night until re-evaluated.

I ma not concerned about this team. We missed the playoffs last year because PG got COVID and was out for the last play-in game. We have the horses to get the job done. Most importantly, this team has been overcoming challenges. Kawhi coming back, but sustaining a different injury early in the season was a set-back. We are currently dealing with Norm (3rd leading scorer) being out. Now, we have PG out.

However, the one thing I haven't seen too much talk about is their plane being struck by lightning on the way to Denver. As time has went on and more information has come out, the situation was quite scary. Since we weren't on that plane to experience what they went through, we don't know how it impacted them psychologically. I saw an account this week where the plane last power and they thought the end was near: https://thesportsrush.com/nba-news-thought-about-sending-goodbye-texts-paul-george-on-the-clippers-plane-being-struck-by-lightning/

Adds some additional context around the losing streak other than the integration of new players.

I am confident these guys will persevere. The PG injury is just another pothole in the road to get past.

Maybe the PG injury is what is needed to get RoCo on the court more consistently before the playoffs.

Just like Law Murray said, this doesn't tell us anything. Might as well just say he's injured instead of a "sprain".

I'm keeping my expectations low, so hopefully the team surprises us. Let MMSr continue as a fake starter but reduce his total minutes and start increasing Roco's minutes. He was bad last game but the guy hasn't played in like forever.

Norm/Mann/EJ will get the minutes that Russ took away. Might even see some minutes from Bones or even Coffey. I hope they are ready because if not, it's looking bad.

Wish Powell wasn't injured as he seems best suited to step up and produce the lost points of George. It will be interesting to see if the Clippers can keep it together for the remainder of the regular season or if they fold and drop in the standings.

time to get our rotations right and maybe upset some people if George doesn't come back...if he does, this is just a stutter step.

That replay of the injury looked BAD

The hyper extension Giannis suffered a few years ago looked horrible too and I think he only missed 2 weeks

I've said it before: Giannis does not get the credit he deserves for not only bouncing back so quickly from that brutal injury, but doing it in such dominant fashion too.
