Bulls have been playing really well since Pat Bev lit a fire under their ass. We’ll def need Kawhi on his A-game with contributions from everyone else.

We are getting to the point now, where the lead in wins is our biggest advantage. There are only 7 games left and some of those teams need to pick up 2 wins on us while also not losing more. Clips have to take care of business tonight. Doing so with Phoenix and Minny losing would be a great night.

Believe it or not; this is an elimination game for us. If we lose to Bulls tonight, we will find ourselves at 9th or 10th in the standings by Sunday.
Next 3 games are away games against Memphis (x2) and Pelicans. Kawhi will sit out one of those. We are not winning on of those 3. and then we no longer control our destiny heading into the last week of games.

Chi-Mem-Mem-Nola this week, very likely a 0-4 week. We'll be fighting for the 10th seed when this week is over.

Phantom injury to save face. As predicted/hoped.

were the Clippers truly out worked vs Pelicans ?
Could they really not guard the three point line and not allow the Pelicans to score over and over from the 3pt line.
As for today, they better come out with a sense of urgency and fight for their lives.

Morris isn’t coming back, Clipper Nation got what they wanted, no excuses to not come out with energy and force.

fully expecting beverley to be super hyping his teammates for this game to show the team it made the wrong decision to pick westbrook over him.
and fully expecting to get trounced tonight.

Why does he need to save face? I thought he was a plus/minus god and pretty much carrying us to wins.

Could be. Wall fell into the well with an "illness" or something and never came back. Though Reggie fought back and was doing well leading the second unit after he was benched.
Word was that Morris was heading for the bench a few weeks ago but things stabilized. Looked downright good there for a bit as we won 5 out of 6.

But after a win and a couple of close losses, without PG the wheels came off completely. Morris looked like he was in a daze even more than usual vs the Pels and I very much doubt there is anything really wrong with him...physically.
We tend to minimize the stress the guys play under, and MM even disabled the comments on his Instagram account. His mind is blown. As noted yesterday
...I think Morris is in complete meltdown now too. A coach hates to let decisions be made by the mob, but now Morris won't even take an open shot. Something's got to give. My proposal is that like John Wall, Morris comes down with a phantom injury for a week or two to save face.

On paper, the starting lineup looks decent. EJ/Batum to space the floor for Kawhi, Russ/EJ to handle the ball, and Zu for rebounding and inside buckets. Hope the team doesn't get off to a bad start.
And is there any news on Norm? We could really use him now...

Might be too little too late now on isolating Morris... but we'll see.
The combo of Batum/Covington at least, MOST nights, will make an impact outside of scoring. And that means... most of the next 7 games : ).
Dayem only 7 games including tonight left!

I think Lue is playing a game. Not a good one at that. Playing with the starters is all about chemistry and consistency. Lue should have replaced Morris as a starter long time ago. Giving RoCo or someone else a chance to get minutes consistently.

actually Gordon, Covington, Powell and Coffey have been worse
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/traditional?LastNGames=15&TeamID=1610612746&dir=A&sort=PLUS_MINUSthe chemistry with new starter Westbrook was actually working until PG went down

Norm--light practice but it's the shoulder so not ready yet but
the minus 1 = Morris is a good guess
the plug might be pulled like it was for Wall

Nice start but I'm worried we might go cold from 3 eventually. Need to mix it up nice Zu basket
