Nice to see Powell step up with George out. Shame that Batum / Covington have been possessed by the ghost of MMSr. Clippers win a date with Durant and the Suns.

To anyone mocking this win as that against a C team, G league team etc. These players wear NBA uniforms for a reason. They know how to play. They're looking for an opportunity to play hard to prove themselves. It is EXACTLY games like these they come out strong. The Lakers had a tough time putting away the jazz.
A win is a win. Period!

As long as we can avoid a matinee game for the opener, I'm fairly confident.

Classic example of vulturing. The entire season just dumping on Mann, but God forbid someone else talks about a player they feel is doing pathetic in a game.

After months upon months of Morris and Ty bashing, God forbid we say anything about the board's sacred cows. ;-)

Both got going after I pointed out they hadn't done much. You're welcome.

29 minutes 2 points sounds like an above-average statline for Morris, but those were always excused away with plus/minus. Mann was +8, so I guess all is forgiven and he didn't suck today.

Always a disadvantage for us vs. young legs and an IDGAF attitude.

NOW you're learning, pumpkin. And why Plumlee [plus+12] finished the game instead of Zubac [minus-6].

Toss in the matinee game as well...I'm sure we'd struggle against Notre Dame Sherman Oaks during a matinee game.

Think the mods are sleeping.

Nope. Paying Attention. Just don't think that "pumpkin" is too big of a deal.

Mann and Batum can play some defense on their worst nights, while Morris needed to share his minutes with Kawhi/PG/Zu to hide him on that end. He also wasn't exactly lighting up the scoreboard either, which is why he's now out of the rotation, after the FO most likely had a talk with Ty about it. So maybe the constant bashing wasn't completely unwarranted.

But we already knew all this. Am I to understand you want Morris to play instead of Mann or Batum? We don't have many options to fill their roles, but we did for Morris. RoCo right now is a better player, despite his own flaws and being in Ty's doghouse.

So what exactly was the point for all these little quips regarding Mann/Batum, other than to stir the pot, like you seem to enjoy doing? And wasn't Zu a "sacred cow" too not that long ago?

I will have duties for Game 1 thread.

As always, everyone is picking Suns to win the series. Just like vs. Spurs in 2015, Clippers proved the pundits wrong, so expect history to repeat here. Clippers in 7.

But now with a bigger purpose. Revenge on Chris Paul.

Knowing Ty Belichick, I will not be surprised to see MMSr back in the lineup for game 1.

Morris was the new Luke Kennard of the Clippers. Every opposing team plan was to attack him lol

And he'll wait until we're down 0-3 to bench him again (since Kenny's not there anymore to step in and do the coaching after game 2).

Ok, so about this last game. Not the best outing against second/third stringers, but credit the Suns for being competitive.

Sure, we could've somehow ended up with that 6th seed, but the Pelicans were down three with multiple chances to tie it (after CJ missed two FTs, so could've been even closer). Imagine actually throwing the game in the final minutes (yes, some people actually wanted that), after an already lackluster performance despite playing our starters, and then the Pelicans turned it around and sent us to the play-in. Might as well call it a season right there.

We'll see what happens next. Take this week to regroup and lock in, then give it our best shot. The Suns are going to be tough, but not unbeatable, just like last time.

Fans shouldn't even think about what it would've been like against the Kings, or the second round against Denver, there's no point. Truth is it's going to be an uphill battle against anyone, after a very rough season and with no PG.

Not going to lie and say I'm too optimistic, mostly just happy to be back in the playoffs, with Kawhi healthy enough to play B2Bs again.

Going to try to enjoy how many more games we have left as much as possible. I'm sure a few other fan bases would gladly trade places with us right now. Keep an eye on those play-in games, we might see a surprise or two.

Go Clippers!

Decent win to end the season, and strong games from the main scorers

Kawhi with 15 boards is a nice sign
