If we keep kawhi and PG I'm all for it. Give them one more shot to win it all

This and he's currently quitting on his third team in as many years, and he's on the wrong side of 30. But I'm sure it will all magically work out for us, because we've had such a great track record with chasing big names instead of building an actual team.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
Well, this is interesting... alright,
I personally would go other routes than Harden -- the guy is not a big game player (playoffs), more often than not.. and his first step is no longer elite or good. Would like to see him drop a bit of weight, but he hasn't since 2020-2021.
Gotta load up due to Kawhi and PG being injury prone though I guess they're really doubling down and this org knows they've made their bed.. Harden isn't the same player he used to be, but on this team he wouldn't really need to be all-that every game; and he can be complimented with not having to take all the big shots from the wing, or most of them..
Certainly would be interesting, and Harden is a legit shot maker and playmaker still. I just don't see him lasting past a season, or a season and a half on this team if he is going to.
Real interesting though. Another summer blockbuster.

And getting Harris back would be very interesting too.. wouldn't mind if he came in, always liked his game, but thats certainly a ton of salary to take on hah..

Re: Harden may be coming here?
Where would Westbrook fit in all of this?
Harden vs Westbrook - who do you got?
Harden does not elevate during the playoffs but he does play most of the regular season. He has size and can still dish out assists.
I am not sure what to think of this.
Jerry West please help this team.

First the CP3 rumors and now Harden. I hope the org has been keeping Russ in the loop or we could end up with nothing. I've learned to sorta like Beard but he still is a major playoff choker. He's played 44, 65, and 58 games the last 3 years. Not bad but hardly what the doctor ordered here in Load Management Land.
Russ has played 65, 78, and 73 and brings it every night. We're on a one-way ticket this season and I see no reason to prefer either of them over Russ--especially if he's willing to play at the minimum. I hope the org has been showing him respect. He's done everything right since the day he became a Clipper.

Re sign WB as 6th man. Let James run the point and find a decent shooter at the 2 and you got a solid top 6 with WB coming off the bench.

If we trade PG for Harden, I may end my support for this team. I am OK trading for Harden if we are getting rid of Morris and a package of other contracts.
If we move PG, I would certainly hope we could make it for a guy like Anthony Edwards.

Trading PG for Harden would be dumb and make absolutely zero sense.clipperlover wrote:If we trade PG for Harden, I may end my support for this team. I am OK trading for Harden if we are getting rid of Morris and a package of other contracts.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
Isn’t it possible to trade PG for Harden who are both the same age, without having to deal with extending & maxing PG and getting Harden as a 1 year rental since he’s a free agent anyway and will probably leave?
I prefer Westbrook if we’re talking commitment to actually playing basketball & Harden has proven that he will leave any franchise at any time. It could help us towards our eventual rebuild even if he walks after this season.
Getting rid of Morris is also a priority.
I mean we’re highly unlikely to win a championship this coming season anyway so for the future I kinda like shedding PG and taking Harden for whatever this season brings then he bolts. As long as we don’t give up youth and picks

Re: Harden may be coming here?
Forgot Harden would be on an expiring deal, and would be a 1-year rental... that makes things better on LAC's end.. deal just has to be right and would feel mostly lateral if PG plus Mann go out..

Of course you know that would not even be close to being possible. George if he's traded it would either be for another older star (minimum 25-26+ years old), or for a package of players and picks. You're not getting an under 25 star for Paul George, zero chance.
Paul George as much as some Clippers fans give him grief because, well, he's not as good as players who are better than him (oh, sorry for not being the best player), he guess his best he's capable on the floor and can give you value outside of his offense. Harden doesn't give you as much value outside of his offense, is no longer an ironman, and he can seemingly shrink away in terms of effort at times

Keeping PG and trading him for assets would help far more than an expiring contract. Not sure what an expiring contact does to help with a future rebuild.

I'm not a fan of Harden's game and his vagabond team switching but I'll have to root for him if he joins the team. Also hoping that PG and Mann remain on the team

He gets grief because of the vast disparity between how much we traded away to acquire him and his actual impact when it matters most. Every Playoff P moment or 7-turnover game just makes the loss of SGA and the picks sting that much more.
Now we're lining up to gut the team once again for an even worse post-prime playoff choker, having learned absolutely nothing from the last time we did that. Not because it gets us any closer to beating Denver or winning titles, but because casuals will buy jerseys since they recognize the name on the back. And superficial stuff like that is all this franchise seems to care about at the end of the day. They're incapable of putting in the hard work to build a real winner. All they want is short-term attention, winning the headlines while other teams win in June.

PG for Harden is at best a sideways move and I'd much rather take my chances on PG. The below theory is the best hope we could have, that out of returned loyalty, Morey would send Harden where he wants to go--LAC.
But the rumor mill says Miami's willing to part with some FRPs, which would be silly for Ballmer to do at this point, facing a major rebuild as he is. And IMO it wouldn't be right for Morey to screw the Sixers out of the best deal possible.
This is the closest I can think of to a fair deal for Philly--only if Morey is accommodating his pal Harden. At least we offer something of value and take back some of their garbage.

I guess we can dream...
