Great deal for the Clippers .

Did no other team want Westbrook???

He is worth more than 4 million per year.

Welcome back Russ !

big hometown discount
Russ has made $350M in the NBA and owns 10 car dealerships in SoCal

2nd year is player option in case he wants to bail
respekt

glad to see the Clippers were in touch and not leaving him dangle

Plumlee not signing elsewhere yet should be a positive sign too

Out Of The Harden Race

With Westbrook coming back, it's assumed Clippers are automatically out of the Harden sweepstakes. What they have is trade deadline fodder, players that have no actual rebuild value except to showcase talent for other playoff contenders in hopes of getting actual rebuild value for next off-season. Morey saw through that lens and said, "Raise hell for all I care, we're not falling for your cheap tricks."

Clippers will just have to swallow their pride and go into the season as is. They are now a farm franchise. I think this team breaks up at the deadline.

Why in the world would Westbrook's $4M mean we're out on Harden?

Well I was wrong, I thought a few more teams would jump at the opportunity to sign him. If I was Washington, or Chicago, i would have pulled the trigger for 10-12 million per season. But having him for 4 million per season is a great deal, and if something happens is an affordable cut bait signing. But I think he will be an amazing leader, energy guy the next couple of years and the rest of the players on the team love him. He can also opt out next year if he doesnt like the situation. Russ/Harden would be fun again as a unit. They were great together in OKC. They only lost to one of the best teams of all time in the Heat.

For two seconds, that's an absolute steal. Got some youth and athleticism

Another wing lol. We will never get a decent power forward.

Roco
Kawhi
PG
Mann
Martin
Coffey

We also have too many players with the draft picks so somebody is getting traded. Why didnt we send someone out for Martin instead of picks.

He plays PF. He doesn't even play like a wing

PF in today's NBA is just a bigger small forward for the majority of teams. What you might be asking for is a big PF who can slot over to C more comfortably (many times just mostly playing C these days), and yes, that would be a nice addition.

Martin is nice though. Low mistake, low foul, efficient player who compliments the team with youth and athleticism, very nice. Good use of future 2nds.

Going to be interesting watching Russ play an entire season with the Clippers.

Hopefully all these young guys get more playing time as well. Unless they all get traded for Harden that is.

Luv it -- Russ' should continue to being a good fit on this team, and will provide reliability and bring an x-factor every game.. he doesn't have to score much most nights, will be an all-around benefit.

Maybe Chicago was the only other team interested but DC is going in another direction. All the point guard positions are pretty much filled plus teams want to develop and play the next generation. Glad Russ is back. Wish we had more money for him. Still need to move Morris and either Norm, Coffey, or RoCo. Need less of a log jam at wings this year and with Russ back I don't see the need to go after Harden

I dont feel bad for him 4 million dollars and living in LA. I could only dream. Yes, we need to move a few players but I dont think that many teams are interested in our overpaid mediocre front line.
