Thoughts: Look out for Keaton Wallace. He’s coming off a couple of good years at Ontario and, I think, has answered the question of whether he’d be able to shoot in the NBA (he’s shot about 47% from the field and over 40% from three). He was always a smart player, and his passing has gone up a bit so he can play both guard spots. I like Preston and I love his story and I think he’s got terrific court vision. I also think he’s clearly a defensive liability and struggles at keeping up with a bigger, more physical league. Wallace is 6’4” with a 6’8” wingspan and really good motor. One of them has a shot to be our 15th man this year.

Also want to see if Bryson Williams has it in him to move up a smidge and make an NBA roster. He has legit size at the 4 (6’8.75” in shoes, 7’2.25” wingspan) and is a smart, strong player. The ding about is one that is gradually crumbling: age. Turns out some guys improve into their mid twenties. Whoda thunk. Anyway, he could be a two way signing.

And of course—is Moussa better? How much has he improved? And what about Jason Preston?

Interesting. Will have to watch out for Bryson Williams... definitely like what I've gathered about K.Wallace.

I hope Moussa hits it out of the park in the SL like he did in the G-League. Him in the rotation, like even on a semi-regular basis, would solve respectable depth, skill and agility issues at PF/spot-C. Take over the starting spot by end of the season : ).

Luv Batum -- but, don't think can rely on Batum anymore on a regular basis, maybe a PJ Brown-Boston-type of role in the playoffs, Horry-coaster role in the reg. season.

I know he was playing hurt kind of often 2nd half of last season, so who knows maybe being healthy again will help and won't have to play as much as he did early on in the 1st half of the year.

Looking forward to Brown and Miller.

Diabate improved in his time with Ontario and looks to be in great shape.

Castaneda and Morgan look interesting.

No one from SL makes me think they can crack playing time the way some past guys (Tyrone Wallace, CJ Williams, JMot for example) did....feels like Wallace is gonna be Nik Caner Medley, invited to SL.and Exh10 every year, liked by the FO but not enough.

Hope I'm wrong of course.

Like Xavier Moon. The gap is huge, sorry. If you have NBA talent, you're already playing in the NBA.

Unless we consolidate some of our contracts, be it for Harden or someone else with a similar annual salary being dumped, there’s too much perceived depth to crack Lue’s rotation for the best guys in the SL roster… and as for the rest… well… they’ll get some nice shorts to wear to open runs at the Y in 10 years time

Way too early impressions.

Diabate and Preston look better. As they should with all the G league time.

Brown and Miller seem comfortable and move their feet well.

That escalated quickly.

In fairness, Utah has played a bunch of games already in their Utah Invitational thing. This is opening night for us.

Preston and Diabate are the standouts.

Surprisingly Brown and Miller have been more impressive on the defensive end than the offensive side.

Brown warming up a bit.

Miller is hustling and crashing the boards.

Morgan is interesting.

Below the rim Brown. SMH no lift

This team sucks. terrible draft evaluators. If this team was any good they would be dominating. Starting lineup is mostly Ontario. New players mediocre at best. The GM should have been fired along with Lue.

I thought they did fine for the first game. They got more comfortable as time went on.

Oddly, I thought exactly the opposite. I thought for a first game, we looked pretty good. I mean, we basically lost because of poor foul shooting. And I thought the two “new” guys looked very good, especially considering they’ve had less than a week of court time with the roster. They looked kinda lost—to be expected—in the first half, but got it together in the second hald. That fourth quarter was a blast to watch, and Preston, Miller, and Brown were locked in pretty damn well. They were making smart plays and screening well. Brown only had two points, but he and Miller and Preston were all +5 for the quarter. Especially on help D and rotations (offensive and defensive), they played smart basketball—especially Brown and Miller.

I know the coaching staff of Ontario Loves them some Xavier Moon, but he can’t defend. And since Preston can’t defend, that’s a problem. Keyonte George just had his way with our backcourt, especially in the second half. We were crushing them from midrange and, especially, inside.

Interesting first game. Like I said, we lost because we went 4-13 from line. More good than bad, IMO.

Man, Jay is less athletic than old Milos or Cassell...if he has average athleticism, I'd be ecstatic to have him as the backup PGotF

I think it's important to wait until at least the second half of their first summer league game to make a judgment on a player.
