George is best when he's mainly focusing on being a scorer, that's for sure

I was listening to one of the Clipper podcasts after the Spurs game and heard an interesting anecdote. I guess early the Spurs tried playing a zone, which sort of threw off the Clippers for a possession or 2. Then the next time they had the ball Paul called for a couple of screens, literally calling to spots on the floor, leading to easily beating the zone. Spurs gave that up soon after.

Being an actual high level NBA point guard is like riding a racing bike with a chainsaw, while juggling 5 bowling pins and chewing gum at the same time. You don't get to where Paul has in his career without a lot of court savvy and awareness, but he's not quite able to manage it all while running point. If he was able to we would have seen it earlier in his career, and he'd basically be a poor man's Lebron (and not even that poor at that.)

As far as the game goes, I expect the Spurs to play better. We don't have to win by 25, we just need to get a win this time to continue the momentum.

If this keeps up, by itself it justifies the Harden trade. We can also have a 2nd unit that lets 'Russ be Russ', and if he does it well we can surely make minutes for him. It's a long season and we need to keep these old guys fresh. Of course the more leads the starters can establish, the more rest they can get.

That's a fun analogy, and I also agree, PG is not some dumb player, he's a smart player, very skilled, a lot of work to get where he's gotten.

Hopefully the team can get a little win streak.

Also, in hindsight, I guess the win against the Magic (9-5, #1 in Drtg) was actually a good win, lol

Vassel back for the Spurs. Tonight also ties the number of most consecutive games Kawhi and PG have played together. Last time they reached 13 games was in the bubble.

I fully expect a W. Maybe not a blowout win but a win. Pop will definitely come up with a strategy. Won't be easy but we'll take this one.

When Paul can just be a true forward on the floor, maximum silkiness is unlocked.

Wow that was crazy- the crowd was booing as Kawhi was shooting free throws, Pops grabs the mic and tells the entire stadium to knock it off.

Why doesn't he want them to boo? Let them boo

Yeah it was strange. I mean it was the personal butthurt kind of booing, but still booing is really not a big deal.

probably because he feels like them booing kawhi comes across as ungrateful to someone who played an integral role in some of their successes, and/or that pop still considers him family in some way and he's standing up for that

Worst thing you can do is give a team like this hope. Gotta come out strong to start the 3rd.

That was pretty crazy. Maybe cause it’s been so long? I don’t know. Not sure I’ve seen that before.

I know he’s on good terms with Pop.

We should be up by over 10, but lucky to have a 6 point lead at half.

It is such a luxury that we can always have at least two of PG/Kawhi/James/Russ on the floor.

We all know that one thing most humans aren't a fan of is being scolded and told what to or not to do.

"What, you don't think I should boo? Well I'm going to boo even more!" Haha

Makes sense
