So little did we know that all this time Kawhi had been playing TOO MANY games, and the Clippers have been forcing him to play and circumventing recovery time...at least according to his trainer

This is such nonsense. If the Clippers had rested him 730 days, we all know he'd still be unable to get through more than a couple games without breaking down again and needing more time off.

Saying that a player needed 2 years to recover and that a team asking for, you know, not 2 years is malpractice is kinda wild.

However Leonard was required to play significant minutes to begin the season..."
Game 1: 21 mins
Game 2: Off
Game 3: 21 mins
Game 4 -15: Off
Game 16-18: 23 mpg
Game 19-24: Off
I'm not sure about the accuracy of that statement unless he means the 21 minutes was significant.

What a timing this is. Right after you open the Intuit dome and accumulate some positive vibes.
Kawhi's shadow is only embarks negative clouds towards this team even if this is just a shakedown attempt.

This goes to how Ballmer does business. Did they endanger Kawhi's health? Did they violate the NBA's tampering rules?
Here is an excerpt from the summary of the lawsuit:
Shelton complained to LA Clippers' management that they were subjecting the LA Clippers' star athlete, Kawhi Leonard ("Leonard"), to unsafe and illegal treatment, in disregard for Leonard's health and safety and known medical restrictions. Thereafter, Shelton was himself targeted, and subjected to discriminatory and harassing conduct. Despite the LA Clippers assuring Shelton he would be protected against retaliation, he was not. The LA Clippers swiftly retaliated against Shelton and terminated Shelton's employment with no stated reason for this decision.
In addition to the unsafe and illegal treatment of Leonard's injuries, Shelton alleges that the Clippers began their recruitment and pursuit of Leonard while he was still under contract with the San Antonio Spurs in 2017. If true, LA would be in violation of the NBA's anti-tampering rules.
Now the tort is for wrongful termination--the trainer says he was retaliated against for fighting the Clipper doctors' diagnoses. [I don't know what the "illegal" part is about.] The tampering allegations seem just for spite [no harm done to the trainer], but could cause Ballmer some big trouble with the league.
And Kawhi could be the victim here if the team withheld vital medical information. If it can be traced to Ballmer or anyone else in the organization, it's poison for their reputation. Or if the trainer was not a Spurs employee at the time, Ballmer Inc. was still spying on Kawhi and violating his personal and medical confidentiality. Still some ugly business.

Lawrence Frank is named. Ballmer is not, except as one of 100 "JOHN DOEs"

Randy Shelton's attorney, Carney Shegerian, is one of the very top plaintiff's lawyers in California in Employment Law. He heads his own 42-attorney firm. This dude is badass.

In December 2021, Carney R. Shegerian and Shegerian & Associates obtained a record-breaking $155,400,000 verdict after just 30 minutes of deliberation by the jury on behalf of our client Andrew Rudnicki. This verdict is among the largest of its kind in Los Angeles and California history.
After 37 years of devoted and decorated service, Andrew Rudnicki was inexplicably fired within months of his anticipated testimony in a FEHA case (Coates v. Farmers). The Jury agreed and awarded $5.4M in compensatory damages and a staggering punitive damages award of $150M against Farmers Insurance Exchange and Farmers Group Inc.

Didn’t the NBA already investigate and clear the Clippers of tampering?

Probably just trying to get a settlement

Yes, but this is war. The settlement won't just be for go-away nuisance money. His lawyers play hardball.

And he's not keeping their dirty little secrets anymore. If he gives the NBA more info that results in further sanctions against the Clippers [bribing Kawhi's personal trainer is a pretty serious invasion of his privacy], that just goes to increasing possible punitive damages.

I guess we'll see what collateral damage comes out of this. The ex-trainer certainly isn't doing Kawhi any favors here bringing up all this other past history and is burning all his bridges to get paid. It seems highly unlikely that Clippers hid anything medical from Kawhi given that they have always given him leeway with his health, Kawhi has always been very cautious about his health (if anything often it seems like the team is the one lacking info), and both sides agreed to a big 3 year $152M extension. All the beef here is purely from the trainer, we'll see where this goes.
EDIT- actually the dude seems like a straight out snitch who participated in the 'recruitment' to get a job, and now turns around and bad mouths the team for it after he's let go.
