The Clipper General Board w/Random Thoughts, Youth Development, Ex Clippers Shinin', etc. Extravaganza

Post#1 » by Clemenza » Thu Nov 14, 2024 10:29 pm

*For a little more community around here.. This will be the "be-all thread" for everything in between game days. Random team thoughts, musings, team changes & transactions, complaints, The Intuit Dome, player-youth development or lack there of, G League Clippers, trade scenarios, former Clippers ballin' out on new teams(aka The Lawrence Frank & Taliban Lue Special, or simply the #9 at your nearest take out), news around the NBA, OT life sh*t, etc.*

Let's Go!!

Mann to the bench and Dunn starting. Good move as you can't have a starting two guard that's not scoring inclined. Less pressure for Mann now and he looks better outside of the Harden/Zu pick-n-roll offense. I guess that was the finale of Lue's first ten game sample size. The other ten game sample looks like it's now Miller Time! Or maybe not. Miller is the better fit and player compared to KPJ imo. We'll see if this is the case. Also does Kobe Brown get another look? I like his energy, but he still can't shoot. I think we would've fully came back last night if it wasn't for Bones doing his own thing when we were down six. Also Clipp fans on Twitter were mad at Lue for not putting the starters back in when the 3rd string got them back into the game. I thought it was the right move to leave the starters on the bench because they sucked yesterday. Need this Rockets rematch on Friday. I talked to a couple of Rocket fans on another site and they said they don't give a sh*t about the draft pick while we need it badly.

Props to BBJ for 19/4/4 on good efficiency last night in a win. Ironically this time it was KPJ with decent numbers in a blowout loss.

To me, BBJ's good nights have always relied on less-than-ideal midrange shots (floaters, in traffic pull ups, etc.) that are not sustainable on a regular basis, but he's had a pretty good run so let's see.

I'm wondering if Trentyn Flowers might be the guy to really give a chance sometime soon.

He still starting as Trey Murphy came back to the lineup. And like you said, a good game from BBJ yesterday in a cup win. Pels/Lakers tonight! Might do a name change to "PelsFanSince2004" :)

I got League Pass so of course I'm watching Philly play on the side. Wow, what a sh*t show they got going over there. 2-10, Embiid woefully out of shape and not interested, and PG looking like the fourth best player on the team. That TikTok-ing nail-painting rookie McCain is good. That's the kind of guard I wish we had. PG playing like he did with us. Low point numbers and not shooting much in general. It's the podcast over everything. I'd trade Embiid and give the keys to McCain.

I watched a good portion of that game and he's improved big time. Going head up with Giannis, Lopez, and Bobby Portis. We all saw the motor and rebounding, now he's finally adding some offense. Of course not with us, but that's the standard and to be expected now.

Nasty horrific stretch coming up. Back to back today Sunday & Monday, play Wednesday, play Friday, another back to back Sunday & Monday (24th, 25th), then a game on Wednesday(27th), Friday (29th), Sunday (Dec 1st),.. you get the picture. Harden, Zu, and Norm might be wheelchair bound by this time next week. Jordan Miller time loading??

Happy for Moussa and Brandon Boston. I am sure we will see Jordan Miller killing it on another team in a few years too.

I don't know what the "of course not with us" means, lol. If Boston and Diabate stick in their rotations, they'll be the first Clipper castoffs this century to do so. Neither can shoot the three.

I don't think there's a GM in the league that would have preferred them over KPJ, who averaged 19 points a game at age 22 and Mo Bamba, who is a genuine 7-footer and AVERAGES 14.7/11.2 and 2.7 BLK per 36 minutes. Both can shoot the three.

Maybe the Clippers made the wrong decision, but Boston and Diabate are on two-ways, and are only getting these minutes because of injury. Popovich and the Spurs didn't even offer Boston a two-way. Any team in the league could have signed either of them away for the minimum and a roster spot.

As for Bones, I understand his frustration, but Dunn outplayed him BIGTIME and got his minutes fair and square.

There's a reason KPJ was available for dirt cheap: he's an extremely flawed player with a history of attitude problems. He's had one season of empty-calorie stats on a lottery team that improved by leaps and bounds when he left, and not much else. The only GM who wanted him was Frank, and at this point, he's so inept at being a GM that him making a move is evidence that it's the wrong move.

Meanwhile, Boston and Moussa's value was clearly lower than it should be because Lue refuses to develop or even play the players we draft. You know, the players Frank drafts specifically based on how quickly they can contribute to a win-now team, not their ceiling.

This is the worst-run franchise in the league, so bad that even teams like the Pelicans and Hornets look shrewd by comparison.

BBJ and Diabate have been putting up some numbers in losses for about a week. Are they hitting their defensive rotations? Have they magically learned to hit the three-ball? We'll see.

Wow, you were waiting for this huh? Been patiently waiting and waiting for over a week and you finally got it. Good job and congrats! Unfortunately, we're not backing down though. We call shots and stick to them, good and bad games. You blow back and forth like the wind and claim the narrative on each side to always appear right. We don't cherry pick and move goal posts. The Mouse is still Loose!
