GAME #44: WIZ (6-36) @ LAC (24-19)—THURS 1/24 7:30 PM

Geez, I'm exhausted just doing the game threads. Seems there's a game every night. Our heroes must be dizzy with fatigue. And after this 5-in-7 mess there's 4 games in 4 different time zones.

Great move to surrender the 'schedule loss' vs the Celts. The top guys got a breather, the rest got a great workout and confidence builder. Blatantly tanking Wiz have lost 11 in a row. Should be no more than a scrimmage...but that's what we thought last night.

And so, it IS a scrimmage, up by 23 in the 2nd, not even breathing hard. But everybody said [and it was true] all through the PG years that they didn't look like they were having fun, especially that they didn't enjoy playing together.

Because they didn't. Addition By Subtraction. And Philly is ass. A max guy and pretender to the HOF like PG should be able to get a team to .500 all by his loneself. CP3 has done it most every year of his career.

Anyway, this Clippers team isn't a young band of brothers like SAG has going in OKC, but this is a nice mix of old and not so old. When Kawhi's on the floor, this is statistically a top-5 or even top-2 team. This group can beat anyone in a 7-game series. ANYONE.

This is the REAL FACT. Celts worked their ass off against the Clippers taxi squad for an overtime win, then lose by 20 the next night. And do they really GAF?

Unwatchable.

the Wizards are one of the worst NBA teams I've ever seen. They have a bunch of young guys who don't belong in the NBA yet and their vets clearly don't care about winning. Happy the Clippers took care of business- hard to focus when playing a team that is so bad.

Solid game we were supposed to win. Question: Is DJJ making a leap, or was that just a couple of good games he had? If he's making some type of leap then that changes things for us. Clipps should've played the main guys on Wednesday against the Celtics and rested everyone against the Wizards. The 2nd & 3rd units would've handled the Wiz easily. We also got a Mo Bamba sighting last night, but can he play like that against good teams?

Who is our 5th best player (doesn't necessarily need to start)- DJJ, Coffey or other?

DJJ is a streaky shooter, so I wouldn't say he's making a leap. He definitely has more in his arsenal than catch-and-shoot and lob dunks. Still not someone who can create their own shots.

Yea they are absolutely dreadful. The problem is they don't have a leader on the floor. Kuz is more interested in fashion and what color he should dye his hair next week. Jordan Poole we all know has no business leading a team. They don't have a young leader like Cade Cunningham and until they do, don't expect any improvements.

Great question. DJJ is our de facto starting PF I guess, although he's only 6'6". As for floor minutes, it's matchups, I think. Dunn is statistically among the top perimeter defenders in the NBA, so you gotta get him out there when that's a factor.

Coffey is just good enough to elbow his way into 20 mpg because he's 6'7" and when he gets hot, it seems to be in the 4th quarter. He leads the Clippers in 4th quarter minutes and was near the top last year. Ty seems to trust him the most. Amir is 4th in mpg overall [26.0, although Kawhi will pass that when he's up to speed], so that might be your answer.

[Mann is still not productive enough, although he doesn't hurt you out there. I wish some team with no depth that needs 30+ minutes of low-usage but credible NBA basketball would make us a decent offer. Looks like Coffey has finally lapped him.]
