Almost every move Frank's made since 2019 has been an utter disaster, with most of them being obviously bad at the time they were made, but his seat still isn't even lukewarm. Unfortunately, I don't think picking a worse obscure backup center over a better one is going to be what gets him fired.

I get why we wanted to take a flyer on Kai. He’s (another) guy that has a ton of great physical tools and imperfect commitment in some ways. When he’s focused, he can be good. He just isn’t. Ands my guess is that enough coaches and staff saw that to make a decision.

I can see Miller as a low level rotation guy for us. The four year deal surprises me. Again, I think it says something about what the G-League and main team staffs see. They must think there’s something long term there. I see it too—I just don’t know if it will translate to the NBA level.

The Lundy and Baldwin signings interest me more, tbh. Baldwin, as I’ve discovered, is considered to be a coachable guy with a ton of tools that got off to a bad start, partly to largely because of injuries. We’ve seen this movie before. If he can stay healthy, he could develop. He’s still young. We’ll see.

I am probably the only person happy about Lundy. I remember when he got drafted—I thought teams were sleeping on him. He’s got good to very good size—over 6’4” barefoot, with a very solid build (he’s around 220), broad shoulders and big wingspan. He plays taller than he is. He’s a high IQ player and is adequate to good on D and willing to work on his weaknesses. But the main thing is the guy can shoot and score. His problem were/are his handles; he was a catch and shoot guy as he entered the NBA, but he’s working on his defense and getting off his own shot and the improvement showed in the G-League. Again, he’s had injury issues and he’s older now—25. But he’s got a specific skill set that is useful and I think he could stick.

"Standard" 4-year contract. Meaning league minimum, no guarantees. :-?

Charania suggests that Miller will actually earn $1MM for the rest of the season, which would result in a four-year total closer to $8.1MM. That $1MM salary for the final six weeks of this season is well beyond Miller’s prorated minimum, so I’d expect the final three years of the contract to include little to no guaranteed money, giving the club plenty of flexibility to either move on from the 25-year-old or hang onto him at a team-friendly rate in future seasons.

The Clippers will use a portion of their mid-level exception to complete the signing.

Interesting moves -- don't mind the Miller move at all, he's shown enough I think to stick around

Unfortunate Kai Jones didn't work out... just wonder if he'll become another Moussa elsewhere in a year or two.

Will have to see on Baldwin and Lundy.

This team still needs some size at PF/C and a presence. Eubanks is adequate backup C but doesn't get to play.

Kai Jones has no feel for the game. You don't need to worry about him working out elsewhere lol.

Dallas are wasting their time.

You're more than likely right. But I will say this, Kai Jones is better than Eubanks. But Eubanks is safer and looks serviceable playing in the slowed down Harden "System", but he doesn't move the needle one iota for the team at all. Kai could show signs of life and progress with a pg who pushes the tempo and there's some lob and fast break opportunities. He definitely can block some shots as well. Not holding my breath on this because he could very well not pan out in Dallas. But our "win now" mode with aging injury prone stars is starting to drag the franchise down with the youthful prospects being the collateral damage.
