2025 Draft -- Picks and Discussions (Clippers select Yanic Konan Niederhauser, trade for Kobe Sanders)
Figured it would be better to have one stop shopping for discussions of who we should pick, who we do pick, and (if you want) discussion of what other teams are doing in the draft.
Here's what I'm thinking going into tonight.
Probably won’t get, but may be around:
Rasheer Fleming
Drake Powell
Best bets (players who are/have been mocked to us in other draft projections):
Noah Penda
Chaz Lanier
Ben Saraf
Probably reaches, but who knows?
Adou Thierro
Tyrese Proctor
Yanic Konan Niederhauser

Re: 2025 Draft -- Picks and Discussions
I don’t have a clear cut favorite. Like do whatever to grab so and so.
Guys I’d be happy with at 30:
Penda
Raynaud
Lanier
Markovic
51st:
Olbrich
Sanders
Williams
It’s the first time in a while where I feel like it’ll be a quiet night for the Clippers. They’ll make their picks and wait until free agency opens to make their moves. Hope I’m wrong though.

There's just no way the Nets will keep all those picks. I'd love to get one of the late first rounders.
And they start off with Egor Demin?? I guess that shows that the picks between now and, really, 25 or 30, are a total crap shoot. I pegged Denim as a borderline lottery pick. This seems about 5-10 spots too high.

Spurs, Suns, Grizzlies have had really nice drafts so far.
Interested to see what Carter Bryant can do and turn into in SA system. Seems to fit like a glove there.

Top 8 picks are one-and-done freshmen. Makes you wonder how many of them will get good in time to benefit the team that drafts them.

Danny Wolf could be a good back up center. He has a well rounded offensive game

Man. So many good names left on the board but will be gone by the time we pick again.

Interesting pick.. needed a legit (size wise) backup young center, and got one on the roster .. I like that at least as being available --- but probably doesn't play for awhile..
Will have to check into him more soon.

Re: 2025 Draft -- Picks and Discussions
LOL. Frank does it again. Reaches for one of the oldest prospects available after lying about getting younger for the millionth year in a row. And despite this guy ostensibly being a "win now" pick because of his age and limited upside, does anyone think Lue will ever play him outside of garbage time? Of course not. Probably another wasted draft pick.
Again, this team blows off the draft and player development. They only want to be the retirement home for 35-year-olds who used to be good a decade ago. Whenever they make a draft pick, they're just checking a box to say they did something. I'll change my mind when I see this team do anything different.

Re: 2025 Draft -- Picks and Discussions
I love that our pick, Yanic Konan Niederhauser, wasn't invited as one of the top 25, but came anyway! That's balls. Nice suit, too! Sequins, but understated.
What I also like is he's a REAL 7-footer, or at least 6' 11.25'' WITHOUT shoes. NOT one of these 6'8 1/2" guys who claim to be 6'10" in shoes. GREAT shotblocker, really gets up there, with the 2nd best Vertical Leap in the whole draft!

A little old at 22, but he played a year of pro ball in Germany, then came to the US for some NCAA experience. Also a great smile. I think we're gonna love him.

- 30. Los Angeles Clippers: Yanic Konan Niederhauser, C, Penn State
Niederhauser is an explosive big man who swats shots and throws down dunks as an effective roll guy. Those traits should help him find a home in the league, though minutes could be tough to find early with the Clippers. If Niederhauser can channel that athleticism into effective perimeter defense and develop an outside shooting stroke, he could be a starting center. For now, he's a toolsy but raw rim protector who is more than worth a shot at this stage of the draft.

I get the age thing, but he's an athletic legit big. We're not hoping for him to grow another 3 inches or anything. I know nothing about this draft, so I will take it. He's young for a Clipper.

Makes no difference how old he is- seems like he seems to meet a true need in that the clippers have no reliable back up center. Definitely looks like a solid defender and lob threat

Exactly- what difference does 22 vs 20 really make. In fact, it may be beneficial in that he perhaps might be ready to play right now

Frank always reaches for older prospects because "they can play right now" and ignores that Lue will still never play them. Barring a miracle, this is not going to be any different than the last ten times he's tried it. Frank and Lue haven't earned the benefit of the doubt you're trying to give them.
