Final Roster/Contract Moves
Finalizing the little details. Those Exhibit 10 contracts for Baldwin and Washington may or may not get guaranteed; they may stay after camp, or one (or both) of them may be out. Looks like the roster is pretty well set for now
11-Man Rotation
Zubac
Collins
Kawhi
Harden
Beal
Bogie
DJJ
CP3
Dunn
Lopez
Batum
Deep Bench/Lower Rotation Players
Brown
Miller
Yanic
Christie
G-League
Sanders
Flowers (TW)
Baldwin (E10/TW)
Washington (E10/TW)
I don’t know if Washington will/can make it. Sure, CP3 is old … but having him on board gives us six guards, counting Christie (who I think will be on the team roster this year). (It’s more if you count DJJ or Miller as a guard). If we lose him, we’ve got 15 regular contracts and 2 two ways (Flowers and Baldwin).

NB: The Clippers exercised their 2025/26 option on his rookie contract last October [it pays $2,654,692 and counts against the cap], so we're stuck with paying Brown, who has so far been useless. Miller is now on a two-way.
- Less than a month after waiving him, the Clippers brought back guard/forward Jordan Miller on a two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.
Miller, who was promoted to a standard contract last season, would have been owed a partial guarantee of $350,000 had he remained on the roster past July 15, and his $2.19 million deal for next season also had a second trigger date for making the regular-season roster. But the Clippers waived him to make room for veteran guard Bradley Beal, with the thought that they could bring back Miller in some capacity, if he didn’t land any other opportunities.
After being waived, Miller, stayed with the team for the NBA Summer League, where he made the All-Summer League First Team. A second-round pick in the 2023 draft, he averaged 22 points on 53% shooting from the field and 39% from 3-point range to go with 7.8 rebounds per game. Last season, the 6-foot-5 Miller averaged 4.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 37 NBA games.

Yeah, Brown is close to 0 value. He’s (another) guy that’s a good G-League player, and that’s it. He’s got some skills and basketball IQ, but he’s too slow to play on the perimeter, and not tall enough to be good inside. Hoped he’d develop some. Didn’t happen. You compare that to Yanic, who probably has less skills, but is built like a tank, is a legit 7 footer with a great wingspan that runs like a deer and can jump out of the building. That’s a guy you take a chance on developing that could go somewhere in the NBA.
I’m pretty on the fence about Baldwin too, tbh. He’s got (very) good size; he’s as big as Moussa, and has more skills/is less raw. But he doesn‘t use that physicality well—Moussa outworks the people around him, which will keep in the league for a while. Baldwin doesn’t rebound that well. He’s an okay three point shooter but a miserable FT shooter—which doesn’t bode well. He seems content with what he is, and my guess is that will be several years as an overseas player.
The guys that interest me are Miller, Flowers, and Sanders. Miller hasn’t shown the ability to switch gears and play in different styles because of the level of competition. He’s good where he has high usage; he’s not good enough to be a high usage guy in the NBA. Maybe he’ll figure it out. But he’ll be 26 right after new year and without a standout skill, I’m dubious.
Flowers is a different matter. He was (also) a G-League standout last year. But he had played in Australia before that, and did well in a different, non-starting role. He figured that out. He’s five years younger than Miller. I’m more interested in him.
And then there’s Sanders, who was intriguing to a lot of people on draft night. Sanders is a smart ball player in a way that, to me, Miller isn’t. He’s a SF that handles the ball well. He seems like a guy that lets the game come to him and can make adjustments out there. Improved as a perimeter shooter, kept his TOs low. Just turned 23. He may have the issues that Brown has had. Or he may keep figuring it out like he has for the past 2-3 years.

CP and Lopez's old selves passing the 80 barrier, even though it is a video game is funny

Hmmm. This could work. Without having to be the #1 option every night, BB can concentrate on defense.

Re: Final Roster/Contract Moves
Everybody have fun tonight. Everybody Wang Chung tonight!
I get the sense that Kawhi is feeling the best he's felt in years. 2025-26 is the Last Hurrah as a serious contender for CP3 and Brook, and although they're not done yet, KL and Beard are on the downhill side of their primes.

"Build it and they will come." Well, no they didn't.
I've been a Ballmerdome skeptic from the first. He's practically giving tickets away. I haven't even been there but you could see on TV all the fans disguised as empty seats. It might be some techno wonderland, but Ballmer has no feel whatsoever for what makes human beings tick.

I think the fan experience there is very good overall, though one or two young superstars are a bigger factor than a stadium in drawing people. If and when we ever get that, I think the attendance will be fine.
To Ballmer's credit, he built his own NBA playground with his own money, and the org has continued delivering a good post-213 team on the floor. We're lucky to have an owner who can just keep doing his own thing and doesn't have to talk out of the side of his mouth about being committed to winning while slashing expenses.

I have no desire to go. Looks sterile, cold and is hard to get to, and the tickets and cost to park are abominable. Ballmer to me is a brute. He should have built a Field of Dreams and retired everybody's numbers from Blake to McAdoo to Randy Smith to Corey Maggette immediately. And ESPECIALLY a Ralph Lawler banner.
All the lights and USB connections on every seat just feed our continuing dehumanization. I know I'm only watching Ballmer's "fan experience" on TV but I see nothing that makes me want to be there. He should have cut prices to the bone, hung some banners, and got everyone to fall in love with the place and with the Clippers.
I mean seriously, who loves Kawhi and the Beard? Along with Durant, they are the least appetizing HOFers in all of basketball. That part you're right about.

Nice to see not another guard/wing getting brought in. Dude's pretty built with solid size for a big.

I'm not trying to change your mind or anything, but here was my personal experience from going to 3-4 games this year-
1. The entire arena is smaller and closer to the action than at Staples, you have to watch your step though when going up and down the stairs because of the rise. You notice a big difference even just walking around the arena, the circumference is significantly smaller.
2. Tickets in the Wall are cheap, often as low as $29 with no Ticketmaster type fees on top.
3. There are a few free/low cost shuttle transportation options, I am lucky and there's a free shuttle 5-10 minutes from my house. So my total price is less than what parking normally costs to go to a game in LA (understand that's not for everyone though.) TBH this was a big factor to get me to go, I don't go to a lot of live sporting events.
4. The Swell section is awesome, and I expect it to be duplicated by other arenas. Overall crowd enthusiasm was fine to me, not worse than Laker games at Staples. It's the same fan base as before in any case.
5. Getting inside was easy as the face ID doesn't bother me. I don't know about the regular line.
6. The big loop screen is pretty cool.
7. Food options are decent, though I always liked the hot dogs outside the best LOL. Prices were fine, I think there is a 'Chuckmark' discount.
100% agree on retiring some numbers and hanging their banners, that would be a cool touch.

OK, sounds good, especially #1. But I did see a lot of empty seats.

Attendance could definitely be so-so. I went to one of the last games of the season vs. Rockets and crowd was good. Everyone cheered when Bogey hit a 3 to give Zu a triple-double at the end, so the fans that are there seem to actually be paying attention LOL.

Meanwhile, back to basketball...
“In the post, I saw a lot of double-teams last year, so I want to be able to face up and see that double team and if the guys back off, I want to be able to shoot that little mid-range shot. I want to be better with passing out of the double-team, finding the right man, and just trying to improve in everything that I did last year and years before. I'm just trying to be better, more confident, and trying to be better at everything what I did.”
