LAC-UTJ (Kaman 4 Okur and Almond)

Post#1 » by Da110n0rcutt » Thu Jan 3, 2008 8:06 pm

The reason for this trade is a future starting shooting guard in Almond, potential and former all-star center in Okur, and a back up point guard that is younger and already knows your system in Hart.

LAC get: Mehmet Okur, Jason Hart, and Morris Almond

UTJ get: Chris Kaman and Sam Cassell

L.A. Clippers
1 Knight/Hart/Dickau/Livingston
2 Mobley/Almond/Ross
3 Maggette/Thorton
4 Thomas/Powell/Brand
5 Okur/Williams/Davis

Future line-up:
1 draft pick (Augustine, Lawson, or home town boy Collison)
2 Almond
3 Thorton or Maggette
4 Brand
5 Okur

I think Brand would stay around for this

Thats a very promising starting line-up bro, Brand would love to give it a shot with this team I'm sure he would, who wouldn't?

No way. Kaman is our center for the present and future, and we don't need a soft center who shoots a lot of threes. Almond seems like he has potential but theres no way we would do this trade.

If we trade Kaman, a star, or potential star is coming back.

Including Cassell in this package makes Clipper fans more opposed to this trade. That package wouldn't get you Kaman, so why include Cassell?

star?

Post#6 » by Da110n0rcutt » Fri Jan 4, 2008 3:07 am

Kaman is no star, name which all-star game he has been to, exactly none, Mehmet Okur has been an all-star, so he is a star, thank you!

Cassell has been an all star and all nba second team, so thus by your logic we are getting ripped off in this trade.

Okur for Kaman may have looked more attractive last season. Right now, Chris is able to bring more to the team than Okur would. We'd be better off keeping Kaman as a core piece, as well as Sam and his expiring contract.

I think the rest of the board has said enough. I'd just like to reiterate: No way bro.

Just because you have been named an all-star doesn't make you a star. Okur was never a star, he just got lucky that he had a good season last year and I'm sure David Stern still wanted some one from the Jazz on the all-star team. I've always said that Okur didn't deserve being on the all-star team last year. Brand was much much deserving.

At this point Kaman is more of a star than Okur. Plus there is a very good chance that Kaman will make the all-star team this year, I don't know what to say about Okur.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Memo is averaging 4.9 rebounds per game and he's a star? Kaman is better then him in every statistcal category except 3pt % so hell no to your proposed deal

How the hell did Okur make the All star team last year over two more deserving teammates of his in Boozer and D. Williams?!!?!? The only positive Okur gives us is a threat from long range. Other than that, I'll take Kaman anyday!

You guys would be insane to do this trade. Has the OP even been watching Okur this season? He has been god-awful. So pretty much you would be trading Kaman at his peak value, for Okur at his lowest trade value.

:banghead: Boozer was an all-star, he was injured at the time and they had to replace him with another big, obvious choice was Memo.

It depends on how Elton Brand comes back. I think Okur would complement Brand better than Kaman. I also think that Almond is going to be a great player in the NBA.
