The Lowdown
The Clippers finally got their first win in 2008 with a 97-90 victory over the Phoenix Suns. The Clipper Nation have to be happy about this well needed victory. Sam Cassell led the Clippers with 32pts and Corey Maggette had 21pts in the win. The Clippers will travel to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Jazz. The Clippers luck in Utah hasn't been on their side as they are currently on an 8 game losing skid with their last with against the Jazz was on January 22, 2003 with a 96-89 victory. The Clippers need to find a way to break the curse. Can they do it and get a win streak going? Let's find out.
Clippers Manifesto
1. Disrupt the Jazz's passing lane.
2. Rebounding will be a major factor. The Jazz are very efficient in that department.
3. Build off the monentum from the win vs. the Suns ad grab another win.

Damn. This board has been on-point with the game threads lately...its Tuesday night and we don't play again til what...Friday? Good lookin out SD.
Well I don't wanna get into any detail about my hopes for this game in case I jinx it (that'll probably do it right there), but I like winning. So much so that I'd even like to do it again sometime before the season is over.

You've gotta love the name of EnergySolutions Arena
The Jazz have had a more disappointing start than they would like but they have won their last 4 games (2 being against Orlando & Phoenix). A positive is that it will be the 2nd game of a b2b for them after playing Denver Thursday evening. I wouldn't mind that game going into double overtime

As of late we've played good against good teams and have come up short (with the exception of Phoenix

). Guys are getting healthier and we've shot well the past 4 games. Defense has played well. Chris will have a couple days to rest his ankle, and hopefully we come out and play hard Friday night.

This game should be closer than what the records tell you.
I'm thinking that Kaman should abuse Okur, but Deron should play well since he'll have smaller guards on him.
The X-Factor is Ronnie Brewer. Whenever he has a productive night, the Jazz win, and vice-versa.
Come on Clipps.

The Jazz were involved in a bac2bac and lost to the Nuggets on the road 120-109. It looks like fouls(33), TOs' and Linus Kleiza's career high of 41pts were a big factor in their lost cause. Hopefully the Jazz will be coming in fatigue like and allow the Clips to get a second win in a row.

With our last win versus the Suns I'm confident that we can beat the Jazz. We have clearly been playing much better than earlier in the season. We need to play hard and, most importantly, we need to play smart. I have confidence in our guys.
Let's go for two in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thomas with a 3 early in the game after Sam recovered the ball from being poked away. 7-4 Clipper lead in first 2:30 of the game.

Utah is pulling ahead. After a 7-2 lead by the Clippers, the Jazz have outscored us 17-5.

My Sling Box isn't really working for me so I can't watch the game

I hope it'll start working soon. It's not pretty right now.
34-23 Jazz after 1. Utah's off to a hot start and are shooting lights out. 65% for the first quarter, everybody's knocking down jumpers for them. Maggette leads the Clippers with 8. I have been in and out of the game but the Clippers have to improve their shot selection. The Jazz have to cool down or it's not going to be much of a contest.

40-28, not looking too good for us right now. I hope my Sling Box starts working soon.

I just lost the game. Damn Time Warner. I had no cable (TV or internet) yesterday. Then it comes back on and then FSNPT goes down during the game. Ok there it goes.

Mobley's layup was sent packing by Milsap came up with a huge block. Jazz are up 19 now.

Nice move along the baseline by Thornton who finishes with the 2 handed slam.

Clippers have scored on 3 of their last 4 possessions. 50-35 Jazz with 3:58 to go in the half.

Good to hear. Hopefully the Clippers can chip away the lead going into the half. 13 point game. D-Will and Thornton both with 3 fouls.

59-45 Jazz, they are just handling us right now

59-45 Jazz at the half. Kaman has not had too many opportunities down low. Each of his 3 baskets have been jumpers from 12-15 feet out. He has been getting swarmed when he touches the ball though. Clippers need to improve ball movement, shot selection and decision making in the 2nd half.
BTW Hart is having a pretty good game for the Jazz. I wouldn't mind a player like him on the Clips.
