Who: Los Angeles Clippers(11-23) vs. New Jersey Nets(18-20)
When: Saturday, January 19th
Where: STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA
Time: 7:30 PM PST
TV/Radio: FSNPT/ ESPN 710 AM
Season Series: Clippers lead 1-0
Team Trivia Connection: Tim Thomas was drafted by the New Jersey Nets on Draft Night 1997 in turn to be traded to Philadelphia for Keith Van Horn.

The Lowdown

The Clippers are coming off a 106-88 road loss to the Utah Jazz and will return home to play host to the New Jersey Nets. The last time these two met was on 12/11 where the Clippers beat the Nets 91-82. The Clippers this year have only one win in 2008 so far. They have to find some consistancy if they win to get out of the Pacific Division basement. They will face off against a Nets team who are in a 3 game losing skid and two games under .500. The Nets like the Clippers tend to struggle to score points in the second half of games. Probably given the reason why their record is the way it is as of today. Time for our keys of the game.

Clippers Manifesto

1. Keep the Nets offense from getting into the post. Which means play better defense.

2. Clippers must dominate on the boards.

3. Clippers need to stay consistant offensively.

I'm going to love to watch the Maggette/RJ matchup.

I haven't really seen RJ play this year, so I'm excited to finally watch how much his game has progressed.

X-Factor right now is either TT or Thornton (it's a toss up). We need to have productive games from one of those players (15+ points, or 10+ from both) in order to win this game.

I am also very excited to finally see Sean Williams. The guy seems like a freak when he's on the court.

I remember the last time we played the Nets Malik Allen was playing like an all-star against Thomas. This time we'll see more of Boone & Williams. It's a winnable game but if we play how we did last night, we won't have much of a chance. Nets should be hungry for a win after dropping their last 3 (most recently against the Knicks)

Represent!

Since we cant win on the road, hopefully we can string some together at home. At least two of our wing men (Mobley, Maggs, TT, Thornton, or even Ross) needs to have a big night offensively along with Kaman & Cassell to give us a shot.

Git 'em Clips.

Cassell with a smooth looking jumper to start off the game.

Beautiful play by Kaman. Baseline drive to finish with a reverse layup.

A missed dunk by Kaman turns into a transition basket for the Nets.

Thomas with a huge flush.

11-9 New Jersey with 6:10 left in the 1st.

Clippers with the 7-2 lead to start the game, but the Nets have answered back with a 9-0 run. That's kind of how it happened yesterday. Clips need to respond. Thomas does with a slam dunk. 11-9 Nets.

Kaman misses the hook as the ball rolls in and out and recovers the rebound and puts it back in. That's how we need to play.

What a play by Kaman. A bank shot goes in and out twice and he somehow gets the offensive rebound over three guys and puts it in. Nice effort from Chris.

Maggette with the fadeaway plus the foul to put the Clips up 1. 34-33 with just over 6 mins to go in the half.
