Hawks @ Clippers

Who: Clippers Vs Hawks
When: Wedensday, January 30th
Where: Staples Center, LA
Time: 7:30 PST

The last time these two played the Hawks edged out a 96-93 victory last year on Valentines day. This time we might have an advantage. Tonight the Hawks will be playing the Suns, so there is a good chance that they might be tired tomorrow. Likely? No. The Hawks have the youth on their team to run all day.

Things To Watch:
Al Horford
Horford is almost averaging a double double night in and night out which is impressive for the rookie. Going against Josh Powell it might be a career night.
Josh Smith
No seriously just watch him, he has been quite impressive this year. Averaging 18 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. I cringe at the thought of Tim Thomas guarding him.
Sam Cassell
He should be able to abuse just about any point the Hawks can throw at him. However he must get a grip of the ball this game.

Injury Report:
Chris Kaman?
Corey Maggette?
Al Thornton?
Shaun Livingston
Elton Brand
Speedy Claxton

Early Wish List For Clippers:

Hope that Maggs and Kaman will be ready for Wednesday's game. This will be a good battle of youth vs. youth. Who will outdo the other in this matchup. The key here would be to force JJ and Smoove into working for their shots.

I'm looking forward to seeing Smoove in action. Maggette, Kaman & Thornton missed practice today all battling flu symptoms. So there's a possibility we end up with all 3 of them out.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. NO MORE HUGGING IN THE LOCKER ROOM, BOYS! But for real, for those of us that have played on any kind of sports team, its tough when one of your own gets sick...especially with something as contagious as the flu. Hopefully its more of a fever-type thing and not the stomach flu, cuz that sucker is terrible to deal with.

Actually to correct what I said earlier, Al is dealing with a stomach virus :( that's unrelated to Maggette & Kaman.

I hope all three players are ready to play, cause I feel like this will be a good test for both teams.

I love Josh Smith. Hopefully he matches up on Corey Maggette and it will be a battle of athleticism.

I hope that Thornton, Maggette, and Kaman are able to play. If I'm not mistaken our road trip is coming up soon. If we can't get this game we might start a losing skid :(

I'm not sure who we play on the road but we need some wins. I'm just hoping that we get 30+ wins this season.

This is our getaway game, yeah? Then that annual 7 game east coast roadie.

Me too, bro, me too. I just pulled up the schedule and we got Minnesota, Cleveland, New York, Boston, Toronto, Philly, Milwaukee, a home game vs. Washington, and then the All-Star break.

Kaman and Maggette missed the shootaround this morning and are doubtful to play. Al is feeling better and expected to start tonight.

Not sure what to expect out of Atlanta tonight. I'm expecting a close game that's going to come down to the final minutes. GL

The Hawks are coming off a loss to the Suns. Despite them outrebounding the Suns. They had a poor night shooting the ball to capitalize on the Suns mistakes. If the Clips to the same thing here. They may have a shot at a win here. Kaman and Maggs got to play tonight if they are feeling up to it that is.

I expect the Hawks to hit rock bottom tonight and score in the 78 range.

I truly believe Smoove for sure is trying to get Woody fired.

BTW Clips fans feel free to stop over and chat it up with us on the Hawks board in our Game thread as well!

any new updates for maggette and kaman? Are they out for sure, or going to play through the injuries?

Both out today. Maggette is actually feeling worse. Kaman is looking better so maybe in the next game.

Thornton will play but not likely to start.

Man, this has has been a rough year for the clippers. I have never seen a team this badly hit with the injury bug. If they were all healthy, this team has potential to be scary.

Tell me about it. They don't have enough guys to have a decent practice. Depending on who's on the roster next season, I like our chances next year.
