I can't say I'm not disappointed. It would have been nice to see the Clips represented in some way at All-Star Weekend. In the past month he's out-performed one of the players that made it but it is what it is. He'll have a chance to make the Sophomore team next year.

Al deserved the spot over J. Green. But I think Green has the privilege of playing with Durant and that might've helped get him in.

I've just realized that we haven't had a Clipper representation in all star weekend since Elton was an all star. Even before he was an all start we didn't have any players representing our team during all star weekend. I would put Al in front of Green or Scola. But our team doesn't get looked at much, so what can you really say

Only a handful in the last 15 years. Danny Manning in the All-Star game. Brent "Air Bones" Barry who won the dunk contest in '96. Maggette was in a Dunk contest as well but came in last. Miles, Kaman, Jaric, etc. have been in the rookie game.
Al should have at least made it over Green.

It's disappointing not to see Al make the Rook/Soph game. He deserved the nod over Green, but if Dumbleavy actually played him consistently since the beginning of the season, Al would have had a much better chance to make the team.

its sad that the assistant coaches got it wrong. how many times do the clippers need to be snubbed until someones notices. quite disappointed, i agree with everyone that al should of made it above green, but what can you do. i still love the clippers and i hope we can get someone there next year.

How has he been I wanted the Celts to draft him at the 5 spot before we traded with Seattle?

He's been fun. He looked good in pre-season and then when regular season kicked off he had to find his place in the rotation. He started off really shaky or "fidgety" as somebody once said. His minutes were inconsistent as were his play. After Patterson was waived he was able to log around a minimum of 19-20 minutes a game and has really started to come along. The 2nd quarter of the season he's had 4 20+ point games. Now he's calling for the ball, the team is running plays for him. Al has been a huge player in our last 3 victories. Each game he either had the best performance, or changed the game for us. His defense is getting better but I'd like to see his rebounding go up and his passing improve. Other than Kaman's emergence, Thornton has been the only other bright spot so far with the team this season.

I don't have the link, but Jeff Green was surprised that he made the allstar game. He admitted he hasn't played well the last 3 weeks.
Every teams assistant coach got one ballot. Why they liked Green better than Thornton is anyone's guess. But judging from his reaction by scoring 33 points when he found out he was left off the team Clippers fans should be happy. That's exactly the type of attitude you like to see. Thornton didn't talk the talk, he walked the walk. Great response to all those that left him off their ballot.

Our announcers were saying that there's 2 eastern teams that we have yet to play (Boston & Philadelphia) and up until last night Atlanta as well. Our games are late on the east coast, plus we're the Clippers. With Durant drawing attention (plus some nationally televised games) more people were able to see Green play. Al was disappointed and shocked as well as his teammates but he said it wasn't going get him down. It was a nice response to the rejection, flu and fouling out against the Bobcats. I couldn't be happier with what he's shown he's capable of doing.

I have only had the opportunity to see Al play in a handful of games, but every game I did get to see him in, he looked good for a rookie.

Al killed the Raptors today. He should of made the rookie team somehow

That's ridiculous. I knew he was good (I was torn between him, Thad Young and Julian Wright in my keeper league), but after watching him yesterday light up the Raps, I have to say he looks like he's going to be a stud.

This thread is gonna go on for awhile...with testimonials from fans of others teams justifying that Al's snub was a travesty.
