reasons: maggette would enormously help us at the sg position because we have simply only one player in devin harris which goes to the basket regularly. terry could fill your free position at the pg. stackhouse and mobley are more of fillers.

that deal was agreed to over the summer according to coach dunleavy. it was shot down b/c of terry's remaining salary.

Trade Idea:

Ager, Barea, S&T Van Horn, and Terry + 1st rd. pick for Maggette, Cassel, and Mobley.

Van Horn would just sign a 3 year contract, with only the first being guaranteed to be used as a filler.

The trade in the summer was for Maggette and Terry, but since Terry's contract is so large, the Mavs take back Mobley's contract for an expiring Van Horn. Cassel is so you get something of value for him instead of a buyout.

The Mavs need a veteran PG, and a solid SG.

sure in think that is a fair trade. we already have thornton who can start as SF, but i do love maggette but i think he would be better off in dallas. i also think swapping veterans mobley and stackhouse is pretty fair as well. plus we get terry who can play PG and SG which we desperately need, so yeah i love the offer and i hope it could get done. with elgin baylor as our GM and sterling as our OWNER i dont know if this would ever happen, but i like the idea of it going down.
