Clippers Sign Nick Fazekas to 10-Day Contract

Post#1 » by mkwest » Wed Feb 27, 2008 4:16 am

The Clippers are expected to sign rookie Nick Fazekas, a 6-foot-11 center who was the Dallas Mavericks' 2007 second-round pick, to a 10-day contract Wednesday. Fazekas played in four games with the Mavericks but spent most of this season with the Mavericks' Developmental League affiliate Tulsa 66ers.

Fazekas started 24 of the 28 games he played with Tulsa and averaged 19.9 points and 9.9 rebounds. He was selected to play in the D-League all-star game earlier this month in New Orleans, but he did not play. Dallas waived Fazekas a week ago.

"He can shoot the ball, and he has some (low-post) skills," Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said. "Plus he's a rookie."

I remember he had a good career at Nevada. We do need another big man. Let's see what he's got.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I thought if anything, we'd be signing a PG...this must mean Kaman's back is more troublesome than we thought.

All this move does is increase our chances of getting Mayo, Rose or Bayless this summer.

Well it was obvious from the way that Kaman was playing that he wasn't his normal self. If our games start to not mean as much there's no problem with letting him get some rest. It's more important that he's healthy for next season.
