"Clippers consider Parker for rest of the season"

The Clippers are interested in signing veteran point guard Smush Parker, waived recently by the Miami Heat, for the rest of the season, Clippers sources said.

Parker, 26, played in only nine games with the Heat this season and had been on paid leave since a Nov. 27 incident with a Miami valet parking attendant.

After a long standoff, he was waived Monday.

"We are hoping for something good to happen, but I can't comment on anything further than that," his agent, Billy Ceisler, said.

The two parties have had discussions, but as of Tuesday no deal had been reached.

Parker would probably be signed to the prorated veteran's minimum salary of $1.2 million.

Funny thing, I considered this same thing after hearing that he was waived. You know what they say about great minds. Smush would be a nice pick-up.

The Clips could use some decent scoring at the PG spot, but Parker isn't the complete PG the Clips need although the season is all but a moot point. Also the thing with Parker is that he can be streaky at time as much as he can tries to be consistant sometimes. There's some questions about his attitude. Could that be a problem if the Clips give Parker the green light to join the team.

Sure why not? Now we'll have the so-called Fakie killer(Thomas) and the Fakie cancer(Parker) on the same team. Watch him avg 15/6 for us and stick with the team. :rofl2:

He used to play well for the Lakers and honestly guys.. having Dickau and Knight at PG is pathetic. Both of them belong to the FA pool right now. It would be wiser to sign a PG like Mike Wilks or Rick Brunson like a few years ago.

Smush is going to be great with the Clips.

I don't see any point in picking up Smush Parker at this point. Instead of losing by 20 points, maybe you would lose by 17 with him. He isn't anyone that will make a significant change in the team's direction. Why consider picking up a Laker castoff?

Smush Parker is the worst guard in the NBA. Or at least, he was when he was in it.

Barrett and Dickau are just better players than he. At least those two have at least one tangible skill.

Why Smush? Gerald Green is available...let's get him. But Smush? Come on. This guy might be a good street baller, but a bad NBA player.

But then again, I suppose he might be better than Dickau. MAYBE.

Don't be fooled by the numbers he had with the lakers... smush parker is a minus to any team. If jason williams (someone who doesn't even help the team and some argue hurt miami) is better than smush parker, you know your getting a bad player. I would rather take a risk on a D-league player than take on someone who is 99% sure will not help a NBA team.

when i first heard smush was waived i knew we would try to get him. thats just the organization the clips are and its sad. smush has no work ethic and he just wants to coast through the league and pick up a pay check. smush doesnt care about the team or if we win or not. i guess he is worth a shot, since this year is lost anyway maybe something good can come of this. but i think dan dickau is doing a pretty good job filling in. brevin knight is almost worthless in my opinion he is maybe a 3rd PG on our team next year if he stays. Dan Dickau i think could be a great bench player and we should resign him. Anyways SMUSH is a bum!

What the heck? You think Smush is better than Brevin?

Wow, I am a little surprised someone would put Dickau ahead of Brevin Knight, Dickau is a better outside shooter but Knight is better in all the other aspects of being a PG. Knight has another year on his contract so he should be back next season, Dickau is OK as a 3rd PG but that is about it.

Well, the only reason I can think of for them to want to pick up Smush Parker is if they are planning a major tank for the rest of the season.
Otherwise, makes no sense anywhichway.

I think we signed Smush is because we need bodies and a guard. If he didn't have that attitude problem with Miami I wouldn't mind that we signed him.

The do is a lunatic, he attacked a female parking attended over a $9 parking fee.

Go figure...

No way Dickau is better than Knight and signing Parker really makes us look bad and or desperate, which we are, to the rest of the league. Obviously the Clips are just piecing it together for the rest of this season and are waiting to see what Livingston's got over summer and next season.

IF Livingston can start and play to potential then Knight would be a servicable back-up. Then draft the best available pg/sg whenever we pick to help with both positions. And this is only a small part of what I think the Clippers need to do in order to be competitive out west.

I never heard stories of him being a psycho when he was with the lakers, he seemed like a pretty humble guy and an okay player.

Maybe he just really, really needed that $9. That's Chipotle burrito money right there.
