I'm a NC State fan and was wondering what y'all thought about him. I noticed he's getting a lot of minutes w/ Kaman and Brand out. Showing any potential?

I was down on this guy when he first joined the team. Dunleavy and the rest of the coaching staff were impressed with how he performed in training camp but then he had a disappointing pre-season. He sat most of the early part of the season and it was looking like he was just a waste of a roster spot. When he actually did start playing and got regular minutes, he was able to show that he was a decent hustle player off the bench. Lately he's been getting starting minutes due to injuries to Kaman and Thomas. The guy rebounds well and he has nice jumper within 15 feet or so. I think that he needs to improve as a finisher down low, because often he's able to grab the offensive board but not able to convert. I think that maybe playing with Brand this summer can help him become a sufficient back up at the 4.

At first I wasn't too fond of him when he started getting minutes. He fumbled the ball a lot, and looked really lost. Now he's starting to really show that he belongs in the rotation. He was a pretty good hustler earlier, but now he seems to have developed a decent mid range shot. I'm pretty glad Dunleavy stuck with him even when he stunk it up earlier. :P

As of late he's been showing this Clipper franchise/fanbase what he is really made of. I hope he sticks with us for a few more seasons b/c I like what he brings to the table.

Powell has played very well and he's really impressed me. This is a player that we need to keep.

Ditto on all points. I'm glad we have him now, he should be a great backup to Brand next year.

He's been a pleasant surprise to this team. His athleticism is the key to his success.
