Trade w/Warriors?

Threw this out on the W's board, but more concerned with what Clips fans think... I personally love the trade both ways.
Warriors trade:
Baron Davis
Al Harrington
Marco Belinelli
2nd rounder 2008
Clippers trade:
#6
Corey Maggette
Tim Thomas
Cuttino Mobley
Brevin Knight
Contracts would work, and I figure Sterling's happy he's not paying as much (or at least, committed to as much) with Mobley/TT...
LAC looks like:
Baron
Beli? Ross?
Thornton / Al
Brand / Al
Kaman / Al
Thoughts? I'd imagine the only way the W's entertain the idea is if they get a high draft pick...

I would too. I'll take your word for it that all the contracts match up...I don't know a thing about those. But I'd do it.

I'd do that one as well if we weren't able to get a top 3 pick. B-Diddy would just have to remain healthy like he has this season. That would give us a dangerous starting 5.

This isn't a bad trade, although I'd rather go after Arenas since he is younger than Baron Davis with the #6 pick and Maggette(S&T). I'd rather make the following trade -
To Washington
Kaman
Maggette(S&T)
#6 pick
Thomas
To LA
Arenas
Haywood
Young

Draft picks and sign and trade players cant be dealt together, but they can pick for the team in which would go down theoretically. However there is no guarantee the player would sign with the other team. As far as the trade originally goes, make the pick top three protected and I think its a good deal.

The problem with the original trade with the Warriors is that Davis has a player option at over 17 million for next season and could walk after that. Harrington is decent but isn't cheap at 8 - 10 million over the next 3 seasons. Would he even start over Thornton at SF? Bellini is OK, but the Clippers could probably do better shopping around Maggette and the #6 pick that this one.

I would do this trade as well. It seems pretty fair, not a bad job at all. Seeing BD and Al in a Clipps uniform paired along with Brand would be great.

Thanks for the input guys...
jgustav's concerns were the ones I thought some might have. I dont think Al should be starting over Al. (Harrington over Thornton

). Al's knees have really hampered his career - I legitimately think that he could have been an all-star had his knees not given out. He works hard in the post, but cant elevate for rebounds. He's more of a PF than SF, most definitely, but can guard the non-ballhandling SFs in the league without too much of an issue. I think he'd be great spelling Brand/Kaman/Thornton.
And JJ, to ease your mind

Manhattan - I believe the deal, to ever really have a chance, would have to be after the draft lottery, and assuring us the Clippers get the 6th pick. Making it a top 3 pick makes it too pricey for us, and anything below 6 takes away from our goal player (Eric Gordon is a good one for us, might even have to take Love @ 6, or someone like DeAndre)... so definitely a post-lottery trade.

510 Do you really want to give the Clippers Baron Davis to go alongside Kaman and Brand?
Moving up in the draft in fine, but don't strengthen a division opponent along the way.

No, turns out this whole idea was a psychological experiment...
Hell yes I want to do this.... Baron CANNOT be a leader. He cannot do it. He wilts, melts down, and then implodes. All at once.
As soon as Jax tailed off, Baron tailed off... not vice versa. Jax is the emotional leader of our emotional team... Baron is a horrible shooting PG who likes to shoot when hes "in charge".
Giving him to LAC, assuming Brand's the unquestioned leader, does benefit them, but anytime Brand's out or not playing well, Baron can save the day or ruin it. Meanwhile we have a trio of extremely efficient and smart players in Tay/Beans/Wright to develop, and I don't want this Nellie/Baron mantra of shooting whenever ya feel like to rub off on them.
Apologies to LAC board for responding here, but its fair to let you know why I want Baron gone too

Don't worry about it. It's actually encouraging to hear legit reasons to back up the rumor that Baron might be available this summer. I have my doubts that he'd work well with Brand considering we've had trouble getting the ball to Elton in the first place and Baron certainly won't help improve upon that problem. But on the other hand, if we have a chance for B Diddy and don't get it done, I'd be really pissed. I'd trade anything outside of Brand or Kaman for Baron. Don't get mad Al fans, I love him too!

AL, EB and Kaman have to be here in 08/09 so if acquiring Diddy means dealing any of those guys away then GS can just keep him.

You're reasons for trading Baron are fair enough. But dumping him on a divisional rival where the Western conference is already strong enough is a bad idea.
