It was pretty much a given that Kevin Durant would be named Rookie of the Year after news spread that Oden would be out for the season. Al Horford is the player that I wanted to win while Durant was struggling, but Durant further solidified his place in first with a strong finish. Horford was a key addition to the Hawks and helped them find their way back to the playoffs for the first time since '99. Scola's play became even more important to the Rockets after losing Yao for the season. He's well deserving of the 3rd spot. Our very own Al Thornton came in 4th with 30 points (1 2nd place, 27 3rd place votes). I'm glad that Al received recognition at the end of the season since he did get snubbed from the Rookie game and lost out on Rookie of the Month honors for February. I'm still hoping that he makes the All-Rookie first team when it's all said and done.
Kevin Durant (90/30/5) = 545
Al Horford (30/ 74/18) = 390
Luis Scola (5/20/61) = 146
Al Thornton (0/1/27) = 30
