Hey guys. I'm a New Yorker and I need a break to go out and experience some west cost life later this month. I've been to California a bunch of times but the last time I was there was five years ago back when I was 14. My friends and I decided to drop a little cash since we're about to finish our sophomore year of college. I will be in the LA area for four days and three nights and I wanted to know if you have any advice.
I'll be staying at a place in West Hollywood right on the Sunset Strip. Right now, the only plans we have are to go to the Price is Right a couple of times and we also want to spend a night at Universal Studios / City Walk. Since my hotel is only a couple of blocks away from the Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theater, we'll probably check those out too. We are also probably going to go to a Dodgers game the day we arrive but other than that, any ideas? I am 19 (even though my ID might say otherwise ) so it will probably tough to get into most bars/clubs but getting trashed without spending too much money would be nice.
Unfortunately, the Lakers/Celtics series will definitely be over by the time I get there. Anyway, I'd appreciate any help or advice you guys are willing to give. Thanks.
I'm going, going, back, back to Cali, Cali.

Club Avalon in West Hollywood hosts Kingdom Fridays for the 18+ crowd...the club is huge and the DJ is off the hook. There's a ton of good food around so check out a lot of different style restaurants. If you're lookin for a simple sandwich hit up Philippe's in downtown-- its my favorite place in LA besides Roscoe's. If you're into music, there's a ton of indie bands and underground rap artists playing shows all over the place. And of course...hit the beach.

Going to In 'N Out is not an option. It's a demand.
Also, the 3rd Street Promenade (in Santa Monica) and Rodeo Drive are good night-life places where a lot of shops and restaurants are crowded.
The best theme park without a doubt is Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia.
There are plenty of Underground Hip Hop/Raggae/Indie concerts in Hollywood.
I don't know anything about the best sports bars in LA though, sorry about that. I know that there's a crowded sports bar in the San Fernando Valley called "Soups" that I always hear good reviews from people. Maybe check that out.
Hope this helps.

I don't see how you can say that In-N-Out is overrated. My idea that I give to people that come out here is the beach.
Are you guys going to have a rental car or what? Things in LA are spread out so it would be a good idea to get one.

I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
