Everybody knows how hard is to get Brand. Theres a chance that he wont re-sign with Clippers, or a chance that he tired of the lotery bound, but we know that he have a very high price in the league.

What about a package with Propect, Expiring valuable, picks and a good PG?

I doubt anything like that will happen. If we trade him, it will be for 1 big player of comparable value. Otherwise the Clips will just retain him until the end of his contract, then try to re-sign him (and accepting the possibility that he may leave.)

Switch Sefosh to Noah or Thomas, and I'd start thinking. Also add in Mobley and Tim Thomas, give us Noci and I'd really start to think.

sorry dat will never happen. we are not taking a bunch of crap for an all star. you have to give us the number 1 and at least deng. if we did that trade u offered we would be guaranteed to be lottery bound forever. did u guys forget that brand was the overall number one pick in a deep draft. thanks but no thanks.

All of those proposals stink. Plain and simple. Bulls don't need or should want Elton Brand. Gooden/Thomas/Noce can provide similar numbers that Brand would provide. So no thank you. You can keep Brand.

Haha. Yeah-- why would you want from one player what three players combined can provide? Genius. You're right-- the Bulls shouldn't want EB. They have three guys of significantly less talent to fill his spot.

Bottom line, EB is not gonna be leaving LA in exchange for a bunch of crap. Like illastrate said...any trade involving LAC and CHI is gonna include the number one pick and Luol Deng. Other than that, the Bulls don't have a lot to offer.

(Except for those three mediocre guys who, combined, may have a shot at putting up EB-type numbers.)

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't deal the #1 for a 29 year old PF who's been to the playoff once and just came off a major injury. Especially when we got a #2 for him 6 years ago.

Brand may not be worth another team giving up a top 2 pick or a particular package, but Brand is the best player on this team. Adding a decent point (combo) guard while subtracting one of the best 4's in the league is not going to push this team over the top. I like Hinrich and Thabo, but not for Brand.

I'm throwing around trade scenarios.

DX has indicated that Indy may be willing to deal JO and their #11 pick for Wally Z and Eric Snow.

DX and Chad Ford said, LAC might look into dealing the #7 pick for a Vet PG. Ford gives examples of TJ Ford and Hinrich. Prolly the two biggest names out of the PGs available. Both are somewhat young too.

Don't sign the draft picks, trade their rights in July once everyone loses their BYC, and we could have a deal.

With CLE's deal, Indy gets approx $21 million in expiring (2009) AND gives up their #11 pick.

With the deal I'm proposing, they have $10 million in expiring next year (2009), and $6.4 million in expiring in 2010. But, they stay in the lottery by moving up in the draft 4 spots.

If a deal like this would go down, Brand would likely not be a FA in 2009. I see him and LAC working on an extension with a solid core. Boozer could be a FA, but I find it hard to believe he will not get an extension in Utah. Ditto with Brand even without the deal. He is a part-time producer in Hollywood.

Why we do this:
1. Clear a logjam
2. Clear long-term deals for 2010
3. We could get a #7 potentially from LAC, well we go down a few spots to #11 from Indy

Why Indy does it:
1. Lose JO's deal
2. Expirings for this year. Unfortunately, Tim Thomas' deal runs into the following season.
3. Move up in the Lotto

Why LAC does it:
1. They have a solid nucleus in Brand, Kaman, and Maggette. You can roll out a lineup of: Kirk/Maggette/Thornton/Brand/Kaman with Noce as your 6th man. That should compete and land you a playoff spot in the West.

What about Hinrich/Noc/Noah for Kaman/others?

^ I'd pass, because Kaman is still one of the top seven best centers in the league, and that package isn't going to make us any better than where we already are.

I wouldn't give up Thabo, all those draft picks AND take back a bad contract, but I'd do something involving Kirk and Tyrus.

I honestly don't know why the Clippers should do that proposed trade.

To me, they'd only trade for Hinrich to add another piece next to Brand, Kaman and Thornton, so they could make a run at the Playoffs.

So it's probably more realistic to talk about Hinrich and that #7 pick, instead of Brand for future picks and guys with contracts that wouldn't allow the Clippers to rebuild.
