Who To Pick At #4?

Post#1 » by HKSVIP » Thu Jun 26, 2008 7:28 pm

Gordon, Bayless, or Westbrook?

I think it's Gordon with the rumor tha he could go 4 or 5 and that he was the Knicks guy.

Who are you hearing at the #4 pick now?

BAYLESS!!!!! BAYLESS!!!!! BAYLESS!!!!!

I hope they get BAYLESS as he would solve a lot of our problems; a slashing pg who can knock down the 3, provide vocal leadership, is a bigtime player. Although I like Gordon, he has no pg skills/ability. After we get BAYLESS, hopefully we can get Kyle Weaver in round 2. We need gaurds. If it's Gordon, the we'll get George Hill in round 2.

I hope it is to get Bayless too, #4 is too high for Gordon in my opinion.

#4 was too high for Gordon, but just like every year, mocks and player value get shaken up a lot the couple of days before the draft. Bayless' stock has taken a big hit. Things change, I'm glad we're adapting to that.

You're not dealing with a team known for making valid judgements, given the same guys - Baylor/Dunleavy - picked Korolev at #12 because he shot up their board, but nobody elses.

The CLips are unbelievable, taking an undersized Eric Gordon SG at #4?! I feel for my LA brothers, but damn let's go Elgin wake up! EG has the same fate as Ben Gordon. I'd take Love or Westbrook before I'd touch Gordon. I think DJ Augustin and K Rush are going to be fantastic pros as well as well as that WV white kid. Gordon?! Yuk!.

We don't need Westbrook. We don't have one consistent shooter on this team. We need someone who can spread the floor. Gordon can do that. Also Eric Gordon is much better at getting to the basket than Ben Gordan.

I would go out on a limb and say that yes, we do need Westbrook...a point guard would be mighty valuable given our situation.

I'm not grasping the variance between Gordon, Westbrook, and Bayless that merits giving up a future first for. One of the 3 should have made it to #7 anyway. I'm still hoping for a blockbuster to get Beasley/Marion for the #4 and Brand and then move Marion for a PG like Baron Davis (preferred) or possibly a package with Detroit (Billups and filler for Marion once the BYC is off in July).

Probably too much to ask for out of Elgin.

Worst case Marion stays in LA and Maggette goes to Chicago in a S&T for Hinrich.

We do not need Westbrook. He is not a true point, and he cannot shoot or get shots on his own. Imagine having Westbrook on the court at the same time with Ross. We'll go on record breaking scoring droughts. Westbrook has potential but he is not there yet, and the Clips do not have time to wait for another project to develop.

Lets grab Bayless and sign EB!

Now according to SportsCenter, the swap between us and Seattle is off.

Hearing Andy Katz explain that it was only going to be a trade if the Clips could get Mayo finally made the rumor make sense. Trading up for Gordon didn't. Better to save the pick than overpay because I see little difference between 4 and 7.
