Pros:

- He's got a 7'6" wingspan...ridiculous
- Can run the floor like a guard, just a few steps and he's covered the entire floor
- Very athletic for a big man (finally, a guy on our squad who can catch lobs!)
- Excellent FG % (over 60%)
-A lot of untapped potential
- Will have excellent teachers in Brand and Kaman

Cons:

- Should've stayed in school
- Poor FT shooter (over 40%)
- No range
- Questionable "motor" (whatever that means)

All in all, it's a win-win situation. We really have nothing to lose. His FT% concerns me(and he'll get better with time), but he'll make up for that with his FG%. There's no way he'll be another Keith Closs, as I've heard some people say. Andrew Bynum sounds like a more feasible comparison. What do y'all think?

His pros outweigh his cons IMO

*Sigh* I wanted him to drop for Detroit, anyway, like you state he has a huge wing span and could run, I don't think he'll be anything more then a backup honestly, unless he's as good as Shaq, Ben, IMO guys that can effect the game even with there horrid range and free throw shooting, he'll be a solid career backup.

If we can point this kid in the right direction, his body will guide him the rest of the way to big results. Jordan is going to need to be focused though. Hopefully slipping to the second round was a wake-up call for him and he realizes his body isn't going to fool people if he can't play.

If Jordan starts working out hard to make the team next fall, I'm going to be excited to see what this kid looks like if he dedicates a summer to hitting the gym. Hopefully Elton's work ethic will rub off on Jordan and will be the third piece of the NBA's best big man rotation in the near future.

I think Tyson Chandler is a more fair comparison to his offensive game. Andrew Bynum has better hands around the rim.

I really hope that this kid can become a good Center. If he doesn't then he's just another 2nd round player who didn't make it. I'm not so sure that his free throw percentage will improve that much, I hope it does. If he works hard and is really focused he can become a good basketball player. It's on Jordon how good he wants to become.

He does have the physical tools to make it in this league. The question marks surrounding him are around his utilization of those tools. He's definitely a very raw project. He does have 2 of the best bigs to learn from and practice against as well as Hughes. It's up to him to put in the hard work. Work ethic, motivation and mental toughness are just a few of the knocks against him. Hopefully dropping to the 2nd round where there's literally no guarantees can drive him to work hard.

Yeah, when I heard Jay Bilas or whoever say that he was a leftie, it sorta intrigued me, but then I started to watch some of his highlight videos, and it looks like he doesn't rarely uses his left hand at all. So yeah.. hopefully he develops some post moves rather than relying on putbacks and ally-oops. He used his right hand in some of his videos, perhaps Kaman can push him to learn to use both hands. Heh.

On ESPN's pre-draft show, Jay Bilas also called him the player "most likely to be another Olowokandi." Time will tell.

If that were to happen thankfully it wasn't at the expense of a #1 overall or even by us giving up future assets to move up to 20-something and getting him.

It's a good thing we didn't trade up for him. We lucked out twice last night, actually, maybe three times because had the Knicks not selected Gallinari, we might've drafted him. After all, we ARE the Clippers. So man, I'm content.

The Clippers need to be patient with Jordan and not waste an NBA roster spot on him immediately. Unlike Korolev, they need to send him to the NBDL for his first two seasons and have him develop there. He is way too raw right now to step into the league as even a backup C.

The thing with Jordan is that he got outplayed terribly by a 6'9 Kevin Love during the NCAA Tourny. Yes, he is raw as hell, but I would rather have taken a guy who could contribute instantly. It will be some time before Jordan even makes some contribution for the Clipps.

Put it this way, now that he is a second round pick his contract its not guaranteed. Bottom line is that a knock for this guy is motivation, well here it is. This was a great pick at the end of the day I think because it was in the second round.

Andre Miller and a future #2 pick or two for Mobley and Jordan??

The Sixers were trying to deal for a #2 to get this kid, and reportedly had a deal in place if the Clipps passed on Jordan. Now the rumor is they are still contacting the Clipps to see if a deal can be worked out. Miller has hinted he wants to get back to the West coast...maybe this is a fit??

'Dre is a great fit for Mo Cheek's system, and the last thing he would want is to come back to the Clipps, where he had problems with the organization in the past.
