Clippers Sign Eric Gordon

Post#1 » by loflin3hree5ive » Thu Jul 3, 2008 12:36 am

The Los Angeles Clippers today signed rookie guard Eric Gordon, the team’s first round selection (7th overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft, announced Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor.

Strange timing when you'd think we'd want to use that cap space Gordon takes to spend on Davis, but signing Gordon this early definitley sends the message that the Clippers are very confident they're going to have both Brand and Davis next year.

Glad to see the #23 being put to good use on a Clippers uniform.

gordon was taking up capspace the moment he was drafted as a caphold. this doesn't change anything.

You sure know your CBA, dcash. I'm just going to not refer to any CBA related issues without consulting with you first. At least we all know Gordon isn't available via S&T now.

So that's why I always see the name Larry Coon. Thank you for the link.

actually dcash- assuming that Gordon signs for the full amount he was allowed to (and virtually every rookie scale contract is) then he cost the Clippers around 500k in caproom by signing now instead of later.
