Favorite player goes the the 76ers. Sucked it had to go down this way, with controversy and signing BD.
Fock, we need a PF now. Paul Davis and his PER won't do it. =[

I really hope this isn't true because everything seemed to be finally coming into place for the Clippers after so many difficult seasons. With Baron signing with the Clippers I was sure that Brand was a lock to return. Hopefully this is just an act to convince the league that Baron and Brand hadn't discussed teaming up together and Brand resigns with the Clippers.

Don't know why everyone thinks Brand, Falk and Baron needed some big act so it wouldn't look like there was collusion.
EVERYONE knows there was collusion! No one cares. The Warriors weren't going to call them on it. Heck, they pushed Baron into it. and if the Warriors don't care, I doubt the NBA did.
Brand and Falk just saw a chance to get more money.

you know, it would be really stupid to go ahead and sign with another team after giving reasons for opting out. it just doesnt make sense. but i guess he feels the west coast is too stacked and he cant compete out here. brand if signed else where will def. be booed out in clipper nation. it sucks to see our franchise player gone.

feel sorry for you guys i didnt see this coming at all
the baron signing is now not that big a deal
too bad if u knew brand was gonna leave youd be better off not signing baron and it would have made it easier to just rebuild
now the clippers will be stuck in the worst place u can be in the nba..mediocrity

Wow. Really, Elton? Have fun playing for the most scrutinizing fan base in American sports compared to the intimate Clipper Nation that loves you so much. I still don't believe it. LA Times hates the Clippers so IMO there is still a chance this is BS.

Well, technically rebuilding is still possible since everything with BD is entirely verbal....but oh well, this is expected when you are a fan of the Clippers. I can no longer support Brand though. He's now goes from one of my favorite players to my least favorite. I put him in the same company as Kobe now in terms of hate.

Elton and Boozer should go make some babies.

None of this adds up. The Clippers ended up tenuring the same off that he allegedly accepted from the Sixers. Why go through the charade of wanting a top-flight point guard if he wanted to go back East this whole time? This isn't about money, or a better chance to win, there has to be some other logical explanation for EB to alienate a fan base that has revered him for years. If he does indeed leave, I think Brand should be viewed in the same manner Boozer was. Brand has been known as a selfless, man of his word and has now sullied that image irrevocably for no apparent reason. After the Baron signing I finally saw the long suffering years as a Clippers fan paying off, but now am resigned to the same maligned franchise we've been for the past twenty years.

What was the max that the Clippers could have possibly offered him after the Davis signing? I thought he was for sure going to re-sign with the Clippers.

I just ordered a bunch of Clippers gear from the NBA store that should be here tomorrow. Tomorrow, I'm sending all that **** back.

What a farce.
If this is true then the Clippers are once again the laughingstock of North American professional sports. Firing is too good for these front office a** clowns, they deserve to be shot. As for all the posts I read on other message boards about how "Saint Elton" would sacrifice significant sums of money out of some perverted sense of loyalty to the Clippers, doesn't appear that way does it. Professional athletes are mercernaries, plain and simple. As old Tricky Dick Nixon used to say "follow the money". These guys would sell their mothers for another million or two. What a sordid mess. Not that I blame EB for a second for running away from this godawful franchise as fast as is humanly possible. They have proven once again that they have no clue.
In the event the LA Times is wrong (and Brand does return) pretend you never read the drivel I posted above.

You guys gotta go after Iguodala/Josh Smith/Okafor/Deng now with all that cap space in order to redeem the offseason. You guys can still add a great piece via FA; you'll have to overpay in order to prevent their teams from matching, but I think that's what you guys should do to salvage the summer IMO.
There's still a great group out there:
