Why do we Clipper fans always get the shaft?

Post#1 » by corgiBear8 » Wed Jul 9, 2008 2:08 am

We are we always getting screwed in everyway possible while DTS keeps making his money and Elgin keeps smiling.

Every year all i hear are excuses...excuses for the losing, excuses for we didn't sign certain players, excuses for why we couldn't resign our current players, excuses for why we couldn't make that trade. Why is it that the good teams always seem to do the impossible and make miracle trades to get themselves better, and the bad teams just stay bad?

Its def. a hard day to be a Clipper fan.

Anyone feel like I do?

My dear Clipper brother, I feel ya dogg.

My only answer is that we have something encrypted into our DNA to make us Clippers fans and suffer a lifetime of mediocrity and lottery balls. Like we were murderous outlaws in a past life so we have been damned to purgatory and must suffer this fate...being fans of the NBA's version of the seventh circle of hell.

You guys should stop going to games and stop putting money in that dirtbag's pocket. Let's see how he likes a 25% filled Staples Center. If this Brand debacle comes to pass I am definitely not buying the NBA League Pass package this season, making it the 2nd season in a row that I will have done so. Until they feel it in the pocketbook they'll just continue on their moronic merry way.

Because the Lakers use up all the good L.A. Karma. I mean seriously, trading Vlade for Kobe, trading Crittenton for Gasol and having Bynum fall right in your lap.

All the Clippers need to do is sacrifice a chicken and get a voo doo priest to put a curse on the Lakers then they will benefit.

I agree...

Sorry fellas, I am a Heat fan, but can't help but feel for you. It's BS! It may be time to say, enough is enough, and as hard as it is, switch teams, at least until an owner who cares about not just making money, but winning as well.

Hopefully Donald Sterling will go senile and retire pretty soon. We need an owner that actually wants to win.

I've only been to one home game at Staples in 1999, so you're preaching to the choir for some of us.

Yea....then when he have a player have a breakout season they leave...
examples: quentin richardson - avergaed like 17 ppg then signed with phx
lamar odom - had his best season then signed with miami
simmons - best season then he goes to the bucks and gets injured
now maggette and brand
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

We've rehashed this too many times but nearly all of the players we willingly let go weren't worth the money (ie Q, Simmons and even Lamar). Elton is a completely different story.

The boycott idea sounds great but DTS will make plenty of money regardless of if you show up for games or not. He's got a great deal going that is independent of the team's success.

Donald only has himself to blame, no way do you offer only 5 @ 70 and expect to retain him. Bottom line this sucks for the Clips, Question to Clip fans did Brand ruin his image as a decent guy ?

I understand how you feel I'm a Laker fan that doesn't hate the Clippers. I constantly root for the Clippers when they aren't playing the Lakers & every year wish for a Lakers Clippers WCF. It's been that way for a long time because DTS wont commit to winning. Most vets don't like committing to teams that wont stay committed to winning. This year you guys lost Maggette because DUMBleavy wouldn't drop a stupid beef he had with him which i'm sure made Brand walk as well. These guys not only want to win but they also want to know that there will be some stability there. Not just with a good core team but also their role night in & night out. Hope you guys get it together. Hate to see the constant falls.

We need some change in the front office. I've even thought this to myself, until we get a new owner the these kinds of things with our players leaving us will keep happening. I hope our front office changes it's culture or else we will just keep loosing while seeing winning once every now and then.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Brand certainly didn't help his image to say the least. Hard to say what really happened, did Brand say he would consider the Clippers as a FA if they improved the team by signing a top flight PG or did he make a promise to resign that was broken after the deal was made with Davis?

It's easy to say that when you're not a Clippers fan. Trust me, I'd say 99% of us hate Brand's guts now.

GuyverX , I'm not trying to be vindictive at all. I was just questioning Brands character or the so called image he built as being "classy". But I don't have to be a Clipper fan to know how you guys feel. That was a serious blow, one that certainly will have a domino effect around the league.
