Baron's agent: "Baron made a commitment to the Clippers."

The defections are not expected to affect the Clippers' acquisition of free-agent point guard Baron Davis, who agreed to a five-year, $65-million contract after opting out from his contract with the Warriors last week.
"It doesn't affect it," said Todd Ramasar, Davis' agent, who added his client was disappointed he won't be playing alongside Brand. "Baron made a commitment to the Clippers."

You guys need to stop painting this as a Boozer. What Boozer did was way, way worse. Boozer coerced his team into not picking up THEIR TEAM OPTION on him so he could "sign with them for the long-term." But when they declined their option, Boozer tested free agency instead of signing with them right away. That was a b*llsh*t move. What Elton did was give the Clippers the chance to bring in some talent. They brought in Baron Davis and nothing else, so Elton left. If I were a Clippers fan, I'd be hoping that they don't sign Baron so they have the cap space available for the future and can let guys like Gordon develop fully.

Trippin' ....... Any player who tells his owner he'll resign if they bring in star player and then doesn't is a punk. They brought B-Diddy in for Brand. And Brand promised he was opting out in order for them to sign BD, not to take another mega-offer from another team. He's not a man of his word and not one of the NBA's most upstanding gentleman as previously believed.
Brand derailed the train here. I'm sure the draft would've been approached much differently and it ran a legitimate risk of screwing up what they were tryng to do with Baron.

Dude, somebody's got to put together a picture of one of those NBA commercials with the players talking they were running this past playoffs, except use Boozer and Brand.

You got it so wrong. Boozer didn't "test" the free market, the Jazz dropped an offer on his door steps the first minute they could that was double what the Cavs were offering. It was Boozer's first big NBA contract, the Cavs couldn't match or even increase their original offer as they didn't have cap room. The "agreement" that Boozer had with the Cavs was illegal under CBA rules and completely unenforceable. The Cavs took a chance thinking they could resign Boozer for half his market value and got caught by the Jazz stepping up - their grief about Boozer is all about saving face for their own stupidity.
The Jazz are now in a similar situation - there is no way they will keep Boozer if they are not willing to pay market value for him.

Local L.A. Radio on the Joe McDonald Show is reporting that earlier today, the station called Baron's reps and asked for an interview after tomorrow's press event introducing him as a Clipper. They declined.
Their people just called back and informed the station that tomorrow's press event has is not happening.
One, two, three knockout if that is the case for the Clippers. It's making me nervous for Deng and Gordon, especially if they do get offered the max, there is no doubt we will not be keeping them.

Why exactly does that make you nervous about Deng or Gordon?
The Clipps got a similar guy to Ben Gordon in Eric Gordon in this years draft and just last year, we selected Al Thornton, who plays the same position as Deng.

You guys got railed. As a BOS fan I cmae to say EB was my favorite non celtic until he pulled that junk. Sorry for you, especailly since you have to live with those obnoxious laker fans.

I think Thornton can play PF with Deng at SF. But I have this feeling IF Baron were to back out the CLippers would just start throwing money around to anyone who would come here just to save face.
And even if they did not sign Deng but instead signed Josh Smith to a max deal, that would drive up the price of our two RFA's.

Im a Cats/Dubbs fan, as well as a BD Fan.. I can tell you that Baron did the same thing to the Warriors Front Office and even "SAID" he wants to Win a Championship in a Warriors uniform. He even Opted out at the LAST possible moment and simply screwed the warriors from the inevitable divorce that was to come NEXT year. I mean, I know Warrior fans would tell you that they would MUCH rather have taken a PG in this past draft!
I wouldnt JUST be pissed at Elton, Id be pissed that BD might screw the Clippz as well regardless if his agent is saying that he will "HONOR HIS WORDS"

Thanks for that. I don't think I was being obnoxious. Also the greater point is you guys have to be pissed at what EB pulled. I would be. if paul pierce did that I would be livid.

Baron's not going to change his mind... he's following the money, just like every NBA player, Brand and Boozer included. And had the Clips put more money out there for Brand to start, well it never would have come to this.

I'm sorry. I'm not looking to start ****, but there's absolutely no comparison.
Boozer went back on an ILLEGAL DEAL. Boo-hoo, Cavs. You tried to game the system and it blew up in your face.
Brand opted-out, all on the up and up, and came to a verbal agreement with you guys that he backed out of, leaving you high and dry.
What Brand did is far worse.
