We're better because we have a competitive pg in baron who can do anything and can lead... and still have a pf who can block shots, rebound, and who has alot of playoff experience as well, we don't need him to score.. plus kaman came out last year so that's a plus

maggette was good but didn't make much of a difference. i loved how he always jumped into his defender once they were in the air tho, it was funny to me. like cassell did sometimes too.

all we need is al thornton to get crazy next year, and even eric gordon :D

Brand/Maggette/Kaman was a ridiculously lopsided trio to build a team around. Despite all their talent, you've got three players who can't handle the ball and can't score beyond 15 feet.

Add in Shawn Livingston and Quentin Ross, both who lack decent shooting range for guards, and it makes perfect sense why this team has been absolutely awful during the times when Cassell and/or Mobley were unavailable or playing hurt.

Needless to say, a Davis/Camby/Kaman trio is a lot more diverse, although I wouldn't mind trading Kaman now for someone like Shawn Marion. I doubt that will happen, so Thorton has really gotta step up this year.

Davis/Camby playoff experience>EB/Maggette entire careers

These guys give us balance at their respective positions which is something Brand did most of the time and Maggette did some of the time. Thornton/Gordon/Kaman now have 2 solid vets they can lean on when the offensive becomes stagnant.

Davis & Camby primarily because we finally have a good point guard. I've enjoyed having the other two on the team throughout their tenure (even though Maggette had his ups & downs I still appreciated his positive qualities) and even though that would be a pretty good front court we'd be severely lacking in the backcourt. With Davis, we have a player that will make the game much easier for Kaman, Thornton and Gordon. I like that Jordan now has Camby in addition to Kaman & Hughes to learn from. I'd rather have Brand than Camby right now but for what it's worth and what was available I really like the move and I'm anxiously anticipating this upcoming season. I agree with MJ in regards to playoff experience. Davis & Camby can bring a new spirit into the locker room and hopefully a favorable fit on the court. Even with as good as the other players are, we only have 1 winning season to show for it. So I welcome the change.

Kaman for Marion sounds good with that line up and at the same time helps the Heat in there rebuilding

Except that Marion is an expiring deal. We would not want to have a rental of Marion for a player like Kaman.

^ Exactly. The West is way too stacked for us to only have MC in the middle. Miami can keep Matrix and that shiesty deal of his.

I completely agree, we're going to be a great defensive team now too. I like our line-up right now.

PG - B. Davis/B. Knight/M. Taylor
SG - C. Mobley/K. Azubuike/N. Fazekas
SF - A. Thornton/T. Thomas
PF - M. Camby/J. Powell/M. Williams
C - C. Kaman/D. Jordan

Right now that's our roster and I'm very happy with it. I'm hoping we sign Jamaal Magloire or Paul Davis as our back-up PF/C until DeAndre Jordan is ready and I would like to see Yaroslav Korolev come back for another year so he can play in the D-League and improve. So far, I'm confident this team will compete for the playoffs but if the front office could pull off a trade of Cuttino Mobley & Tim Thomas for Jamal Crawford & Vladimir Radmanovic, I'd be doing back-flips.

Crawford is a ball chucker and Radman is the most worthless player on the planet.

You also forgot EG and I think you have Fazekas' and Williams' positions flip-flopped. Otherwise it looks pretty good (assuming GSW doesn't match).

You're kind of missing Eric Gordon in that depth chart. Switch Fazekas and Williams, too.

:nonono: if we keep P.Davis and Fazekas on the-08/09 team. One of them has to go to make room for Ross and Azu.

probable 08/09 team:

PG: Diddy/Knight/Taylor
SG: Mobley/Gordon/Azu/Ross
SF: Thornton/Thomas/M.Williams
PF: Camby/Powell/Fazekas
C: Kaman/DJ

Lets go!

If we get Azubuike I kinda hope we don't get Ross back. I like him, but he'll get NO minutes at all. I felt sorry for him last year when he barely got much playing time. Would be nice for him to go somewhere and get some playing time.

See you next year, guys ! Congrats ! Baron will make you more competitive and the Lakers vs. Clippers game even more interesting !

Baron + Camby for me looks better than Corey + Brand.

As an outsider, I think its hard to look at this deal. All of these players have been injured. Thing is, with brand out this last season, many saw the potential the caveman has as a center. Solid post player, smart, younger and big. You put Camby next to him, who rebounds, plays D, has a weird shot, but makes it, and will not get in the way of the Caveman. Maggs is a talented player, but I saw him as a black hole. He did not pass that much. Davis is one of the best PG's in the league, but injuries has robed him of consistency and recognition. The new line up is intriguing, but I am in a wait and see mode. The west is so deep and good that anyting could happen.

Tough one, I'd say it's almost a wash. I guess I'll say Davis/Camby for two reasons: (1) all other things being equal I think having a great PG/C combo is better than having a great PF/SF combo, and (2) I am a big fan of Baron Davis, so I'll take the combo with him in it to break the tie.
