Hey Clippers fans-
I'm a Milwaukee Bucks fan, and had a question about Quinton Ross. I haven't heard any stories regarding teams expressing interest in him or him being resigned by LAC. What would you say is the best position for him SF or SG? How much do you think he is looking fo this offseason?

SG. Probably $1.5 to $2 mil.

Re: Question on Q. Ross
Ross is primarily a SG. When Ross does play SF, it's usually because he's matched up on defense against a big scoring threat.
Clippers haven't resigned Ross yet because if the Warriors do match Azubuike's offer sheet, Ross' contract will count against the Clippers $3 million or so in cap space. I believe there hasn't been much talk about Ross because it's pretty certain the Clippers will use Q's bird rights to go over the cap to sign him once the money LAC has under the cap is spent. I think Ross really wants to stay a Clipper, and Dunleavy will match any reasonable offer for Q.
I'm thinking Q will get something like 2 years/$4 million. He and the Clippers will start talking long term in two years, when hopefully by then he can develop a jump shot.

Re: Question on Q. Ross
Last season there was talks of Phoenix wanting him but they recently signed Matt Barnes. The last two tidbits that I've heard on Ross in regards to the Clips is that the two sides were far apart in negotiations and that we renounced his rights to make an offer on Buike. If he gets matched then I'd like for us to have Ross back.

Re: Question on Q. Ross
I haven't seen any links saying Ross has been renounced.
When the Clippers renounced Livingston and four others a couple of weeks ago, that move was pretty well documented on all major basketball websites, including ESPN and RealGM. Unless I missed something, the Clippers still own the rights to Q Ross.

Re: Question on Q. Ross
While the Clippers weren't ready to announce any additional moves, a league source says the team renounced the rights Quinton Ross, Paul Davis and Marcus Williams in order to maximize their cap space for the Azubuike offer. LA can garner a few more dollars under the cap if they additionally waive Josh Powell and renounce Nick Fazekas - but that doesn't appear to be likely. Powell is very economically paid and showed promise in last year's lost season.

Although it is Hoopsworld, they did break the Camby rumor.

Would you guys be interested in a Ross ( S&T ) for Shawne Williams?
I know that Shawne has had offcourt issues....most of which I think are severely overblown because of the Pacers attempt to clean up it's PR image.....but he still has potential and ( most of all ) a rookie contract with a Team Option next season.
Keep in mind....I'm not trying to downplay an of his offcourt incidents.....I know that many of the stuff is a result of stupid calls on his part....but at worst....he's a $1.5mil athletic SF that can score, still has some upside ( which is hard to guage since he is stuck behind Granger and Dunleavy ) that the Clippers can try out and then let go IF he doesn't pan out. If anything...he'll give you guys some depth at the SF rotation behind Thornton.

I would absolutely do that deal.

I've lost track.....who is your current backup SF behind Thornton? Is it Tim Thomas?

Azubuike if GS doesn't match our offer.

^ Time to look for another backup SF since GS matched the offer.
