Clipper public enemies...who do we boo regardless?

Post#1 » by skartch1t » Thu Aug 7, 2008 4:31 am

kinda bored even though the clippers off season is a roller coaster.

So i was thinking, what Ex Clippers or other players do we boo?
please add names and reason

1. danny ferry- back in 90 something clips draft this moron first round, and he didn't want to play for the clips, so he went overseas and eventually came back to play in the NBA (correct me if i'm wrong)

2. lamar odom- He didn't want to be a clipper, he publicly said its my time to leave( saying clippers sucks in a poilicatl way)

3. EB (soon to be)- you know the story

4. andre miller? i can go 50 50 on this guy, he didn't want to play for the clippers. seemed like there was no motivation for this guy to play.

Your list is missing two big non-favorites for Clipper fans in Olowokandi and Mo Taylor.

Olowokandi gets booed because of public criticism of the organization and lack of effort and progress as a player. Did he improve at all from his rookie season while he was here?

Taylor got booed because of the incident at the trading deadline when he didn't want to leave the bus with the rest of the team after he found out he wasn't getting traded (at his demand). He also gets booed because of his one on one style of play and lack of rebounding for a PF. Taylor was another David Falk client.

I would say Antonio McDyess, basically said he wouldn't play for us if we drafted him.

But the problem is that his career has sucked and he went through a ton of injuries. That part makes me laugh, but he's not worth booing because he's a nobody.

Definitely Elton 'L.A. is a Lakers town' Brand, Lamar 'basketball hell' Odom, and Andre 'worst time of my career' Miller.

Andre Miller. That guy did absolutely nothing for our team. It's a wonder how he avg. 11asts in Cleveland. He was horrid for us.

Do you guys think the majority of Clippers fans will boo Brand in his return? He gives 7 solid years to an underachieving team and eventually takes the opportunity to win elsewhere. Boo the management for letting him slip away. Philly fans are known to be tough, but I can't imagine Iverson ever getting more boos than cheers in his games back. Better watch how you treat Baron or next thing you know...

LOL! This is a fun thread to read. I'm not saying that Davis has any desire to be any place but LA but it's not as though he doesn't have a history of wanting out of cities and leaving pissed off fan bases behind. He did want out of New Orleans in a big way and within 24 hours, he opted out from Golden State and jetted down the coast to LA.

Oh please. We treated Brand with all the damn respect we could give when he was here. Some of you guys still don't know wtf went on or refuse to believe the Clippers side just cause we've had such a sub-par FO/team for quite some time. Things have changed this season. We've made more damn off-season moves this year than any other year we've been in the league. Dunleavy has done a sensational job trying to keep this team competitive. Brand didn't want to stay. Get it in your damn head and realize all the crap about him "wanting to be paid less for more help" was a load of crap.

The thing is Baron didn't make it seem like he wanted to stay. It's not even the same as what Brand did. I wouldn't give a damn if Brand wanted to leave LA and saying it, but when you have your franchise player "playing" the fans and management about wanting to remain on the team and taking less to bring in players like Baron, then jetting to another team without even saying a damn thing. Then it's a load of poppycock. So keep loling all you want. You guys just don't get it, and probably won't cause you'll just hate on us since we're just Clipper fans.

I'm just sayin', the man looks good in a Sixer's uniform.

for the record, I think the Clippers have made excellent moves this offseason. Strong draft, too. Hopefully it will be enough...good luck.

That's funny since the Clippers colors are the same as that Philly throwback

Kanga you talk about Clipper fans and bad karma, and then you come here to instigate with a picture of our player in your team's uniform. Hmmm, better take heed to that yourself.

The fact of the matter is there are a lot of underlying issues regarding Brand. The fans have supported and respected him for his time here and have showed it in various ways while he was here. He throws cheap shots at us, but that's ok because we're the Clippers and fans of the Clippers. We're supposed to get dissed but smile and tell him how his ass tastes. It doesn't matter that he had his home on the market in early June, or that he went back on every word that he said. No, because the management dropped the ball rigth?. He didn't want to play here and should have let it be that way. That would be more respectable than trying to come up with flimsy excuses as to why he decided to leave the team.

Philly fans enjoy him. It should not concern anyone one bit as to how Clipper fans perceive him.

Very well said, mkwest.
And on the original topic, I don't mind what the fans in the Staples Center do when those other guys are around, but I certainly hope that Elton Brand is massively and passionately booed every time he touches the ball in LA from now on.
I really believe that he felt he could knife the organization in the back and personally come out smelling of roses by blaming everything on Clippers FO. I want him to know bigtime and without any doubt that it just didn't work that way, that everyone here knows what really happened and who betrayed whom, and I want him to know it every time he hits town to play.
Every time he touches the ball in the Staples Center.
For years.

You know, Det the Threat, if that revolting slimy sleazebag Clay Bennett ever sets foot on the Staples Center floor at a Clippers game, I'm all for rattling the rafters with boos.
But as for the players --- they have to put a good face on what's happened to them, but they didn't want this either. It hardly seems fair to take it out on them.
